Steps to Setting up OTP Verification for COD Orders with COD KING
The following guide will help you set up the OTP verification process step by step, ensuring that your COD orders are verified, and reducing the chances of fraudulent orders.
With the COD KING app for Shopify, setting up an OTP (Time Password) verification system has never been easier. Follow the steps below to integrate this feature into your store.
- Install and Launch the COD KING App In Your Shopify Store →
Install the ‘COD KING’ app from the Shopify App Store if you haven’t already. Once installed, navigate to your Shopify dashboard and select ‘Apps’. Click on the ‘COD KING‘ app to launch it from there.
Navigate to the “OTP Verification” tab →

Now select “Setup after order placement”.

Now, look for the ‘Activate OTP Confirmation’ checkbox. Turn this feature ON by clicking on it. Select all other options as Per Your Requirement.

Customize the auto-cancel time by selecting a specific time from the dropdown menu and after the specified time is over the order will be canceled automatically.

If the checkbox “Notify customers on cancelation” is enabled then the customers will be notified via SMS that their order is cancelled and they can place a new order.

You can enable the below-highlighted checkbox to delete the cancelled order automatically.

You can use the “Retry after” setting and our app will send a retry message with a verification link for unverified orders.
Note:→ It should be less than the auto cancel time.

Step 3 – click on “Enable in theme” option then follow these steps
When you click on the “Next step” after the first step you will see an interface like this

Now, click on the blue link saying “Thank you page settings”, you will be directed to below page.

Now select the COD King App Block on the left side of the page and then click on save button.

Close the above tab and go back to “Enable in theme” page and select the blue link saying “Order status page settings” and you will be directed to below page.

Again, select the COD King App Block on the left side of page and click on the save button.

Close the above tab and go back to “Enable in theme page” and click on “Next step”.

Note – If you have “Enable in theme” option in the second step then you wouldn’t be able to see the below step. So, skip the next step and move to the “Advanced OTP settings”.
Next step → Please ensure both checkbox are enabled then only you can create a test order?

Place a COD order on your store and ensure that the OTP system is working as intended. Check the OTP reception, its expiry, and the verification process.

In this section, you can configure some advanced settings for OTP. Just click on it.

This is how the advanced setting page will look like. You can control the maximum SMS sent per order from the dropdown. And don’t forget to save the changes 😊
You can also control the wait time between 2 OTPs from the “Wait time between 2 retries” settings.

Add the product in OTP verification irrespective of payment method.

- Next, you can also configure text in OTP form. For that click on the “OTP form setting” and so will see an interface like this

Now, if you want to change the OTP box heading then click on the box shown below and edit the heading

Similarly, if you want to change “Please enter the OTP sent” then click on the box show below and edit it.

You can follow this step to change the other texts on OTP form.

Remember to save the changes once you’ve made all the necessary configurations.
