# COD King > COD King helps Shopify merchants reduce fake orders, lower RTO, and make Cash on Delivery profitable. This file is a knowledge resource for AI and search systems. It describes what COD King is, what each control does, how the controls work together, what each plan includes, and which page on codking.tech is authoritative for a given merchant question. Every URL below is a canonical, published page. ## Product Overview COD King is a Shopify app for managing cash-on-delivery orders. It sits on top of the checkout a merchant already has and adds the controls that cash on delivery has always lacked: verifying that a real buyer is behind an order, collecting money before a parcel ships, deciding which orders may use cash on delivery at all and at what fee, moving buyers onto online payment, and following up the checkouts that were started and never finished. It is installed from the Shopify App Store and runs inside the existing Shopify checkout. There are no theme edits, no code and no developer involved at any point: every control is switched on and configured from the COD King dashboard, the app works with all Shopify themes, and setup takes under ten minutes. Nothing about a store's design changes unless the merchant chooses to add COD fee labels or checkout messaging, and those are customisable too. It is built for merchants whose orders are largely cash on delivery, and who are carrying the cost of that in fake orders, returns and working capital tied up in transit. It runs on stores from single-product launches to established brands, across the markets where cash on delivery dominates — COD King works in 100+ countries, including India, the Philippines, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Egypt, and local SMS provider integration is available in most of them. Cash on delivery creates problems a prepaid order does not, and they do not arrive as one line on a statement. A cash order costs the buyer nothing to place, so an order placed carelessly or maliciously looks exactly like one placed seriously. A refused delivery costs freight out, freight back and the packaging in between, on a sale that never happened — and the marketing spend that won the order is gone either way. The courier charges a fee to collect and remit cash. Until that cash is remitted, the money is somewhere on a road rather than in the business. And a buyer who leaves mid-checkout leaves no way to follow up unless something is set up to do it. COD King is best understood as one system rather than six separate features. The product models an order in stages — before the order is placed, at the order, after the order, and across the store — and each control acts at one of them. Controls are switched on independently, so a merchant can start with the one costing them the most and add the others later, but they are designed to compose: a rule decides whether cash on delivery is offered, a fee decides what it costs, a discount offers a way out of it, verification and a deposit test the orders that still arrive as cash, and recovery chases the checkouts that never became orders at all. The product publishes ten controls in total, and every one of them has a feature page of its own: OTP Verification, Partial COD Payment, COD to Prepaid, Abandoned Cart Recovery, COD Show/Hide (also called COD Rules), COD Fees, Messaging Gateways (marketed as Local SMS Gateway), Prefilled Address, Order Verification and Analytics & Reports. All ten are described in detail in this document, and each entry carries the canonical URL of its page. The last four publish less than the first six do, and their entries are correspondingly shorter rather than padded. **In the product's own words:** COD King is a Shopify app for managing cash-on-delivery orders: verifying them, collecting payment upfront, controlling where COD is offered and at what fee, moving buyers to prepaid, and recovering carts that never converted. It runs inside the Shopify checkout you already have, so a cash order behaves more like a prepaid one. **Who it is for:** Shopify merchants whose orders are largely cash on delivery, and who are carrying the cost of that in fake orders, RTO and working capital tied up in transit. It runs on stores from single-product launches to established brands, across the markets where cash on delivery dominates. A phone number that was mistyped, invented, or belongs to someone who never ordered anything produces an order that looks entirely normal in the admin. **Why it matters:** The order is picked, packed and dispatched before anybody discovers it was never real. By then the merchant has spent packaging, forward freight and the ad spend that won the order, and will spend return freight on top of it. Nothing about the sale was ever going to produce revenue. **How COD King addresses it:** COD King verifies the order at checkout with a one-time password sent over SMS or WhatsApp to the number the parcel will go to; only verified orders are accepted, and it detects a COD order and triggers verification on its own. A partial payment adds a second filter — a buyer who pays a deposit is a buyer with something at stake. A COD rule can go further and stop the order being placed as cash at all, including a blacklist for phone numbers and email addresses that have refused parcels before. **Example merchant scenario:** A store running paid traffic sees a run of cash orders from numbers that never answer. OTP verification blocks the ones nobody confirms at checkout, and the numbers behind repeat attempts can be blacklisted so they never see cash on delivery again. **Relevant features:** - OTP Verification — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification - Partial COD Payment — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment - COD Rules (COD Show/Hide) — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide ### RTO — parcels that come back undelivered **Problem:** RTO, return to origin, is a shipped cash-on-delivery order that comes back because the buyer refused it, could not be reached, or changed their mind while it was in transit. **Why it matters:** A refused delivery costs freight out, freight back and the packaging in between, on a sale that never happened, and the marketing spend that won the order is gone either way. It is the single largest cost most cash-on-delivery stores carry, and it is invisible until it is counted — which is what the COD Calculator exists to do. **How COD King addresses it:** COD King works on RTO from four directions: verification removes the orders that were never real; a deposit at checkout gives the buyer a reason to accept the parcel; a prepaid discount converts the order to one that is already paid for and therefore cannot be refused at the door; and a rule keeps cash on delivery away from the pin codes, baskets and customers where refusal is most likely. **Example merchant scenario:** A merchant shipping to a wide pin-code spread finds a handful of areas where parcels keep coming back. A rule hides cash on delivery for those pin codes while leaving online payment available, so orders from them still convert — just not as cash. **Relevant features:** - OTP Verification — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification - Partial COD Payment — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment - COD Rules (COD Show/Hide) — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide - COD to Prepaid — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid ### No payment commitment from the buyer **Problem:** Nothing is at stake for a customer who placed a cash order until the parcel is at their door. Refusing it is free, and so is forgetting about it. **Why it matters:** Commitment is what separates an intention from an order. Without it, a merchant is funding the packaging, the freight and the working capital for orders that only some fraction of buyers were ever serious about, and there is no way to tell which is which at the moment of dispatch. **How COD King addresses it:** Partial COD Payment collects a token amount at checkout — a fixed sum or a percentage of the cart — through the store's existing payment gateway, and the balance is still collected on delivery. Non-serious buyers drop out at that step; the ones who continue have paid something, which is also part of the merchant's cost already recovered. OTP verification performs a lighter version of the same test: it costs the buyer a moment and a real phone number. **Example merchant scenario:** A store selling made-to-order items sets the deposit to cover its shipping cost, so a refused parcel no longer leaves it paying freight out and freight back on an item it cannot restock. **Relevant features:** - Partial COD Payment — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment - OTP Verification — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification ### Abandoned checkouts and lost revenue **Problem:** Buyers reach checkout with a filled cart and leave without ordering, for reasons a store never sees. Without a reminder, the cart is simply gone. **Why it matters:** A buyer who left mid-checkout has already chosen the product and already cost the merchant whatever it took to bring them to the store. It is the cheapest revenue in the business to recover and the easiest to write off, because nothing about an abandoned checkout demands attention. **How COD King addresses it:** Abandoned Cart Recovery sends timely SMS or WhatsApp reminders to COD buyers who did not complete checkout, as an automated multi-step sequence rather than one message that is easy to miss. Every reminder carries a direct checkout link back to the cart the buyer already filled. **Example merchant scenario:** A high-traffic store in a WhatsApp-first market switches on the sequence and lets it run; buyers who left mid-checkout get a reminder on the channel they actually read, with a link that returns them to the cart in one tap. **Relevant features:** - Abandoned Cart Recovery — https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery ### COD offered where it should not be **Problem:** Shopify offers cash on delivery as a payment method for every order or none. There is no way, out of the box, to say that this pin code, this basket or this customer should not have it. **Why it matters:** Some pin codes are never worth the freight, some baskets are too large to send as cash, some products cannot go back on the shelf if the parcel is refused, and some buyers have refused one before. Offering cash on delivery to all of them is a decision the merchant never actually made. **How COD King addresses it:** COD Show/Hide is a rule engine at the checkout. A merchant builds rules from 15+ parameters — order value, pin code, product or collection, customer tag, order history and more — and COD King reads each order against them and shows or hides cash on delivery accordingly, with no latency at checkout. Specific phone numbers and email addresses can be blacklisted outright. **Example merchant scenario:** A merchant selling custom-printed items enables cash on delivery for the rest of the catalogue but disables it on the custom collection, because a refused custom item cannot be resold. **Relevant features:** - COD Rules (COD Show/Hide) — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide ### COD profitability **Problem:** A cash-on-delivery order costs more to fulfil than a prepaid one — cash collection and remittance, higher refusal rates, and the return freight that follows — and the checkout charges the same for both. **Why it matters:** In thin-margin categories the difference decides whether the order was worth taking. Absorbing it silently on every cash order means the prepaid customers are effectively subsidising the cash ones, and the merchant has no lever to change the mix. **How COD King addresses it:** COD Fees lets the merchant charge an additional fee on cash-on-delivery orders — fixed or percentage-based, and able to vary by parcel weight or order value band — displayed clearly at checkout so the customer sees the total before ordering. It covers part of what cash on delivery costs and reduces COD adoption naturally, without disabling it. Where a fee is not enough, a rule removes cash on delivery for that order entirely. **Example merchant scenario:** A store shipping heavy goods sets a higher COD fee by parcel weight, so the orders whose return freight would hurt most either carry more of their own cost or move to online payment. **Relevant features:** - COD Fees — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees - COD Rules (COD Show/Hide) — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide ### Low prepaid share **Problem:** Most buyers in cash-on-delivery markets default to cash even when online payment is available and nothing is wrong with it. **Why it matters:** Working capital rides around in a van until the courier settles, and every undelivered order carries risk that a prepaid order simply does not have. A higher prepaid share improves cash flow and lowers RTO exposure at the same time, without the merchant selling anything more. **How COD King addresses it:** COD to Prepaid presents an exclusive discount that applies only to online payment options — as a banner during the checkout flow, or as a reminder with a payment link after the order is placed — so paying now costs less than paying later. A COD fee pushes from the other side by making cash the more expensive option. Where a buyer will not move fully to prepaid, a partial payment still brings part of the money in upfront. **Example merchant scenario:** A merchant sets a prepaid discount as a percentage of the cart and shows it at checkout; buyers who take it pay online, and the order arrives already settled rather than travelling as cash. **Relevant features:** - COD to Prepaid — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid - COD Fees — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees - Partial COD Payment — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment ## How COD King Works COD King intervenes at seven points in the life of a cash-on-delivery order. A merchant switches on only the ones they need, and each is configured from the COD King dashboard rather than from the theme. ### COD eligibility — is cash on delivery offered at all? Before anything else, the checkout has to decide whether this particular order may use cash on delivery. COD King evaluates the rules a merchant has set — order value, pin code, product or collection, customer tag or order history, and phone or email blacklists — and shows or hides the cash-on-delivery option accordingly. Online payment is unaffected: hiding COD removes one way to pay, not the order. Controls: COD Rules (COD Show/Hide). ### COD pricing — what does cash on delivery cost the buyer? Where cash on delivery is offered, it can carry a fee that reflects what it actually costs to fulfil. The merchant sets a fixed amount or a percentage, optionally varying by parcel weight or order value band, and COD King adds it to the order summary as its own clearly labelled line when the customer selects cash on delivery. The customer sees the fee and the updated total before confirming. Controls: COD Fees. ### Prepaid conversion — can this order be paid online instead? A cash order that becomes a prepaid one carries none of the risk it started with. COD King presents an exclusive prepaid discount as a banner during checkout, or sends a reminder with a payment link after the order has been placed, so paying now costs the buyer less than paying on delivery. A COD fee works from the other direction, making cash the more expensive of the two options. Controls: COD to Prepaid and COD Fees. ### Payment commitment — does the buyer have anything at stake? For the orders that stay on cash on delivery, COD King can collect part of the money at checkout: a fixed amount or a percentage of the cart, paid online through the store's existing gateway, with the balance still collected on delivery. A buyer who has paid something has a reason to accept the parcel, and a merchant who has collected something has already recovered part of the cost of sending it. Controls: Partial COD Payment. ### Order verification — is a real buyer behind this order? COD King detects a cash-on-delivery order at checkout and sends a one-time password to the number the parcel will be delivered to, over SMS or WhatsApp. The buyer enters the code to complete the order, which proves the number is theirs. Orders nobody confirms never enter fulfilment, so they never become a parcel the merchant pays to ship twice. Controls: OTP Verification. ### Abandoned checkout recovery — can a lost sale be brought back? A buyer who reaches checkout and leaves has already chosen the product. COD King sends an automated multi-step sequence of reminders over SMS or WhatsApp, each carrying a direct checkout link, so returning to the filled cart takes one tap rather than a search. Controls: Abandoned Cart Recovery. ### Reporting — is any of it working? COD King reports verified against unverified orders, prepaid share and recovered carts inside the app, and reports RTO, fake-order and prepaid trends in one place, so the effect of the controls is a figure a merchant can check rather than a feeling. Nothing is installed to make this work: the figures are a record of what the controls already switched on actually did. Controls: Analytics & Reports and Order Verification. ### The order stages the product is organised around The controls are grouped by when they act, and the grouping is the product's own — it decides the navigation, the features index and the way the app itself is organised. - **Before the order** — A bad COD order gets placed at all — a risky area, a repeat offender, or a low-value basket that should never have had COD. - **At the order** — The order is placed but may be fake or half-hearted, with no commitment from the buyer. - **After the order** — Orders are placed but carts are abandoned, or unverified orders ship anyway and come back. - **Across the store** — Messaging cost adds up, and the merchant cannot see what is working. ### What installing it involves - **Install app** — Install COD King from the Shopify App Store. - **Configure rules** — Set OTP, COD fees, partial payment and other rules. - **Customer places order** — Customer places the order on your Shopify store. - **COD King protects every order** — We verify, collect, validate and help you grow. ## COD King Product Ecosystem The product publishes ten controls. Six have a full feature page and are documented in depth in the next section; the other four are part of the app and appear on the plans, but have no page of their own yet and are therefore named here without a link. - **COD Rules / COD Show/Hide** — Restrict COD based on zip codes, cart value, or customer risk. That is the direct-to-operator payment model, and it is available for all regions except India. Local SMS operators the product offers, with the coverage it states for each: Twilio (Global), Wavecell (Global), Chat API (WhatsApp Global), ProWebSms (Smshare) (Global), Veevotech (Pakistan), Branded SMS (Pakistan), iSmart (Oman), Winsmspro (Tunisia), eSMS (Vietnam), PalPigeon (Turkey), Movider (Philippines), BoomCast (Bangladesh), SmsMisr (Egypt), ThaiBulkSMS (Thailand) and BulkSmsBdService (Bangladesh). Until one is selected the picker sits on its default, Cod King, and messages leave on COD King's own sending — COD King is the default rather than one of the local operators. ### Payment gateways Prepaid and partial payments are collected through the merchant's own payment gateway, connected to COD King with its API key and secret so the money is settled into the merchant's account and never through COD King. COD King does not restrict which gateway a merchant connects: they use whichever one they prefer. Commonly used gateways, given as examples and explicitly not as a supported-provider list: Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree Payments and PhonePe. A gateway absent from that sentence is not unsupported — there is no supported-provider list to be absent from. For partial payments the gateway must be set to auto-capture, or the deposit is authorised without being collected. ## Core Features The six controls with a dedicated page, in the order the product groups them: before the order is placed, at the order, and after it. Each is switched on independently, and each is configured from the COD King dashboard. ### COD Rules / COD Show/Hide Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide **One line:** Restrict COD based on zip codes, cart value, or customer risk. #### Overview COD Show/Hide — called COD Rules inside the app and in this site's navigation — gives a merchant full control over their cash-on-delivery policy by defining where, when and to whom cash on delivery is offered. The merchant sets conditions such as order value, pin code, customer history or product type, and COD King applies them at the Shopify checkout: cash on delivery appears for the orders it should appear on, and disappears for the rest. It is a rule engine rather than a single switch. Rules can be built from 15+ parameters and combined, so a merchant is not limited to one condition at a time, and specific phone numbers and email addresses can be blacklisted outright. The engine reads each order against every condition that has been set, with no latency at checkout. Hiding cash on delivery removes one way to pay, not the order: online payment stays exactly where it was, so an order from an excluded pin code or on an excluded product can still be placed and paid for. Rules are built and edited from the COD King dashboard — no theme edits, no code. #### The Merchant Problem Out of the box, cash on delivery is offered on every order or on none. That is a decision no merchant would make deliberately, because the orders differ enormously in what cash on delivery costs: some pin codes are never worth the freight, some couriers will not collect cash in an area at all, some baskets are too large to send unpaid, some products cannot go back on the shelf if the parcel is refused, and some buyers have refused one before. Without a rule, the merchant absorbs every one of those cases and only finds out afterwards. A rule moves the decision to the earliest and cheapest point — before the buyer has even chosen how to pay — and makes it a policy the merchant sets rather than an outcome they receive. #### How It Works Take full control of your COD policy by defining where, when, and to whom cash on delivery is offered. Set conditions like order value, pin code, customer history or product type, and COD King applies them at your Shopify checkout. 1. **Create your rule** — Set the condition and the action from the COD King dashboard — no theme edits, no code. 2. **Customer reaches checkout** — A buyer lands on your Shopify checkout and enters their details as usual. 3. **COD King checks the conditions** — The engine reads the order against every condition you have set, with no latency. 4. **The rule is matched** — The condition that fits this order decides what happens to cash on delivery. 5. **COD is shown or hidden** — Cash on delivery appears for the orders you want it on and disappears for the rest. **In one line:** Your rule → Checked at checkout → COD shown or hidden #### Detailed Behaviour The merchant creates a rule in the COD King dashboard: a condition, and what should happen to cash on delivery when it matches. When a buyer reaches the Shopify checkout and enters their details, the engine reads the order against every condition that has been set, matches the one that fits, and shows or hides cash on delivery accordingly. There is no delay at checkout, and nothing else about the checkout changes. Prepaid options remain available on every order, including the ones cash on delivery has been hidden on — the rule narrows how the order can be paid for, not whether it can be placed. #### What It Changes For The Merchant - **Control your COD policy** — You decide where, when and to whom cash on delivery is offered. - **Keep risky orders out** — COD never appears for the pin codes, carts or customers you exclude. - **Conditions you can combine** — Order value, pin code, product, customer history and more. - **Prepaid stays available** — Hiding COD removes one way to pay, not the order itself. #### Capabilities - **Flexible COD rules** — Build a rule from 15+ parameters and combine the conditions that matter to your store. - **Order value rules** — Show COD only above or below a cart value, so the baskets you choose pay upfront. - **Pin code & region rules** — Hide COD for high-risk pin codes, or for regions your courier will not collect cash in. - **Product & collection rules** — Enable or disable COD per product or collection — custom items included. - **Customer-based rules** — Segment rules by customer tag or order history, so past behaviour decides. - **Phone & email blacklists** — Block cash on delivery outright for specific phone numbers or email addresses. #### At A Glance - Show or hide COD by rule - 15+ rule parameters - Pin code and region rules - Cart value thresholds - Blacklist by phone or email - No latency at checkout #### Configuration, Rules And Options - **Condition — order value** — A cart-value threshold, applied as only-above or only-below. - **Condition — pin code / region** — Individual pin codes, or whole regions. - **Condition — product / collection** — Per product, or per collection. - **Condition — customer** — Customer tag, or order history — the buyer's record decides. - **Condition — blacklist** — Specific phone numbers or email addresses, blocked from cash on delivery outright. - **Parameters available** — 15+ in all, and combinable — a rule is not limited to one condition. - **Action a rule takes** — Show, or hide, the cash-on-delivery option. Online payment options are never affected. - **Where it is configured** — The COD King dashboard. No theme edits, no code, and no added latency at checkout. Rules are built and edited from the COD King dashboard — no theme edits, no code, and no delay at checkout. #### Merchant Use Cases - A made-to-order store that disables cash on delivery on its custom collection, because a refused custom item cannot be restocked, while leaving it on for the rest of the catalogue. - A merchant whose courier will not collect cash in certain pin codes, hiding cash on delivery for exactly those areas rather than stopping delivery to them. - A store with a list of repeat offenders, blacklisting their phone numbers and email addresses so they never see cash on delivery again. - A merchant with high-value carts, requiring online payment above a cart value while leaving cash on delivery available on smaller baskets. - A store with a segmented customer base, offering cash on delivery to tagged repeat buyers and withholding it from first-time customers. #### Best Suited For - **Made-to-order stores (Custom items you cannot restock)** — Custom and made-to-order items cannot be resold if the parcel comes back, so those are exactly the products worth taking off cash on delivery. - **Restricted delivery areas (Pin codes your courier will not cover)** — Where a courier will not collect cash, a cash order is undeliverable by definition — a pin code rule prevents it from being placed. - **Stores with repeat offenders (Numbers and emails worth blocking)** — A buyer who has refused parcels before is the clearest possible signal, and a phone or email blacklist is the direct way to act on it. - **High-value carts (Baskets too large to send as cash)** — The larger the basket, the more a refusal costs — a cart-value threshold moves the biggest orders onto prepaid without touching the small ones. - **Segmented customer bases (Tags and order history)** — Customer tags and order history already describe who has behaved well; a rule turns that record into a policy at checkout. #### Plan Availability Included from the **Pro** plan (₹899/month), and on Enterprise and Enterprise Plus. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial and requires no credit card. - **Show / Hide COD Rules** — Free: not included; Pro: included; Enterprise: included; Enterprise Plus: included. #### Product Terminology Merchants search for this control using terms such as "hide COD for specific pin codes", "COD rules for Shopify", "disable cash on delivery", "COD availability rules", "blacklist a customer from COD", "show COD above a cart value", "COD by product or collection" and "restrict cash on delivery by zip code". #### What The Product Demonstration Shows - Rules built from order value, pin code, product or customer - Blacklists for specific phone numbers and email addresses - COD appearing and disappearing at the Shopify checkout - Set up from the dashboard — no code, no theme edits #### Related Features - **COD Fees** — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees - Why related: a fee prices cash on delivery where a rule removes it — the two ends of the same decision. - When to use both: Use a rule where cash on delivery should not be available at all, and a fee everywhere else, so the orders that keep it pay toward what it costs. - **COD to Prepaid** — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid - Why related: a discount persuades the buyer off cash where a rule takes the option away. - When to use both: Try the discount on the orders where cash on delivery is still offered, and reserve the rule for the pin codes, products and customers where no incentive would be enough. - **OTP Verification** — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification - Why related: the rule decides which orders may be cash; verification tests the ones that are. - When to use both: Run both when risky orders should be narrowed first and then checked — the rule removes whole categories, verification checks individuals. #### Differences From Related Features - **COD Rules vs COD Fees** — COD Show/Hide decides whether cash on delivery is available on an order at all. COD Fees leaves it available and attaches a cost to it. A rule is a policy; a fee is a price. Both are on the Professional and Enterprise plans, and many stores run a fee broadly and a rule narrowly. - **COD Rules vs OTP Verification** — COD Show/Hide acts before the buyer chooses a payment method, on categories of order. OTP Verification acts after they have chosen cash on delivery, on the individual order. - **COD Rules vs COD to Prepaid** — A rule removes the cash option; a prepaid discount leaves it in place and makes the alternative cheaper. The rule is a decision the merchant makes for the buyer; the discount is one the buyer makes for themselves. #### Common Questions - **What is COD Show/Hide?** It lets you decide where, when and to whom cash on delivery is offered. You set the conditions — order value, pin code, customer history, product type and more, from 15+ parameters in all — and COD King shows or hides the cash-on-delivery option at your Shopify checkout accordingly. - **Can I hide COD for certain pin codes?** Yes. A rule can hide cash on delivery for high-risk pin codes or for whole regions — which is what stores do when a courier will not collect cash in an area, or when parcels sent there keep coming back. - **Can I hide COD on specific products?** Yes. COD can be enabled or disabled per product or per collection. The usual reason is custom or made-to-order items, which cannot simply go back on the shelf if the parcel is refused. - **Can I show COD only above or below a cart value?** Yes. A rule can offer cash on delivery only above or only below a cart value, so the baskets you would rather not send out as cash are paid for online instead. - **Can I stop a specific customer from using COD?** Yes. You can blacklist specific phone numbers or email addresses, and segment rules by customer tag or order history, so a buyer who has refused parcels before does not see the option again. - **Which plans include COD Show/Hide?** Show/hide COD rules are included on the Professional and Enterprise plans. Every plan comes with a 7-day free trial and no credit card is required, so you can build a rule and watch it run before committing. Official resource for COD Rules / COD Show/Hide: https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide ### COD Fees Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees **One line:** Add a fee on COD orders so prepaid looks more attractive. #### Overview COD Fees lets a merchant charge an additional fee on orders that choose cash on delivery, to cover the logistics costs a cash order carries and a prepaid one does not, and to give the customer a reason to pay online instead. The fee is set as a fixed amount or as a percentage of the order value, and COD King adds it to the order summary as its own clearly labelled line when the customer selects cash on delivery. The fee does not have to be the same on every order: it can be set by parcel weight, so a heavy shipment carries more of its own freight, and by price range, so different order-value bands carry different fees. The label the customer reads and the checkout messaging around it are the merchant's own wording, and nothing else about the theme changes. Transparency is the design principle. The customer sees the fee and the updated total while they are placing the order, before they confirm anything. Cash on delivery stays on the checkout — the fee is intended to reduce cash-on-delivery adoption naturally rather than to block it, which is also how it increases prepaid conversions: the customer can always switch to online payment, which carries no COD fee. #### The Merchant Problem A cash-on-delivery order costs more to fulfil than a prepaid one. There is cash collection and remittance by the courier, a higher rate of refusal, and the return freight that follows one — none of which a prepaid order carries. The checkout, left alone, charges the same for both. That difference has to come from somewhere, and by default it comes out of margin, which is hardest to bear in thin-margin categories and on heavy parcels. Charging for cash on delivery does two things at once: it recovers part of the cost on the orders that use it, and it makes the cheaper alternative visible at the exact moment the customer is choosing between them. #### How It Works Charge an additional fee for COD orders to cover logistics costs and encourage prepaid conversions. Set a fixed or percentage-based fee, and COD King displays it clearly at your Shopify checkout so the customer sees the total before they order. 1. **Configure your COD fee** — Set a fixed amount or a percentage from the COD King dashboard — no theme edits, no code. 2. **Customer selects COD** — A buyer reaches your Shopify checkout and chooses cash on delivery over paying online. 3. **The COD fee is applied** — COD King adds your fee to the order summary as its own clearly labelled line. 4. **The total updates** — The customer sees the fee and the new total before they commit to anything. 5. **Customer completes the order** — They place the COD order at the total on screen — or switch to online payment, which carries no COD fee. **In one line:** Your fee → Applied when COD is chosen → A total the customer can see #### Detailed Behaviour The merchant configures the fee in the COD King dashboard. A buyer reaches the Shopify checkout and chooses cash on delivery over paying online; COD King applies the fee and adds it to the order summary as its own clearly labelled line, and the order total updates in front of the customer. The customer then either places the cash-on-delivery order at the total shown, or switches to online payment, which carries no COD fee. Both outcomes are useful to the merchant: one covers part of what cash on delivery costs, the other removes the cost entirely. #### What It Changes For The Merchant - **Cover what COD costs** — An additional fee on cash-on-delivery orders goes toward the logistics cost prepaid orders never carry. - **Encourage prepaid** — A visible fee reduces COD adoption naturally, and cash on delivery stays on the checkout. - **Nothing hidden at checkout** — The customer sees the fee and the final total while they are placing the order. - **Already the industry norm** — More than 70% of merchants take a small additional fee on COD orders. #### Capabilities - **Fixed fee amount** — Charge a flat additional amount on every cash-on-delivery order. - **Percentage-based fee** — Charge a share of the order value instead, so larger baskets carry a larger fee. - **Fees by weight** — Set COD fees by parcel weight, so a heavy shipment carries more of its own freight. - **Fees by price range** — Set different fees for different order value bands rather than one fee for every cart. - **Full checkout transparency** — Complete visibility to customers while placing the order — the fee and the final total are both on screen. - **Customisable fee labels** — COD fee labels and checkout messaging are yours to word, and nothing else about your theme changes. #### At A Glance - Fixed or percentage fee - Fee shown at checkout - Fees by weight & price - Covers extra COD cost - Encourages prepaid - COD stays available #### Configuration, Rules And Options - **Fee type** — A fixed amount, or a percentage of the order value. - **Varying the fee** — By parcel weight, and by order-value band — so a heavy parcel and a large basket need not carry the same fee. - **The amount** — Always the merchant's decision. COD King applies whatever is set, and neither imposes nor recommends a figure. - **How it appears** — As its own clearly labelled line in the order summary, added when cash on delivery is selected, with the total updating before the customer confirms. - **Fee label and messaging** — The merchant's own wording, and the only visual change to the checkout. - **Where it is configured** — The COD King dashboard. No theme edits, no code. COD fees are set from the COD King dashboard — no theme edits, no code, and the fee label your customers read is yours to word. #### Merchant Use Cases - A store with high cash-handling costs — cash collection charges and return freight — recovering part of them on the orders that cause them. - A merchant shipping heavy or bulky products, setting a weight-based fee so the parcels whose freight doubles on return carry more of it upfront. - A cash-on-delivery-heavy catalogue where most orders arrive unpaid, using a visible fee to shift part of the mix toward prepaid without removing any option. - A store deliberately moving toward prepaid but unwilling to remove cash on delivery and lose the customers who will only pay that way. - A thin-margin category where the extra cost of a cash order is the difference between a profitable order and an unprofitable one. #### Best Suited For - **High COD handling costs (Cash collection and return freight)** — Cash collection and return freight are direct, measurable costs of offering cash on delivery, and a fee is the only way to charge them to the orders that incur them. - **Heavy or bulky products (Freight a refused parcel doubles)** — Freight on a bulky parcel doubles when it is refused, and a weight-based fee puts more of that cost on the orders most likely to incur it. - **COD-heavy catalogues (Most orders arriving unpaid)** — When most orders arrive unpaid, even a small per-order fee changes the economics of the whole catalogue. - **Stores shifting to prepaid (Without removing COD)** — A fee shifts buyers toward online payment without removing cash on delivery, which is what a store wants when it is moving toward prepaid but not ready to lose cash-only customers. - **Thin-margin categories (Where the COD cost shows)** — In thin-margin categories the additional cost of a cash order is visible in the P&L, and leaving it uncharged means the prepaid customers are subsidising it. #### Plan Availability Included from the **Pro** plan (₹899/month), and on Enterprise and Enterprise Plus. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial and requires no credit card. - **COD Fees** — Free: not included; Pro: included; Enterprise: included; Enterprise Plus: included. #### Product Terminology Merchants search for this control using terms such as "COD fee for Shopify", "cash on delivery charges", "COD surcharge", "extra fee on COD orders", "percentage-based COD fee", "COD handling fee", "charge extra for cash on delivery" and "COD fee by weight". #### What The Product Demonstration Shows - A fixed or percentage COD fee, set from the dashboard - The fee appearing in the order summary when COD is selected - The order total updating in front of the customer - Online payment still on the checkout, without the COD fee #### Related Features - **COD to Prepaid** — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid - Why related: the fee makes cash the more expensive option; the discount makes prepaid the cheaper one. - When to use both: Run both when the goal is to change the payment mix rather than to block anything — the customer sees a cost on one option and a saving on the other, at the same moment. - **COD Rules (COD Show/Hide)** — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide - Why related: where a fee is not enough, a rule removes cash on delivery entirely. - When to use both: Charge a fee across the store and reserve rules for the pin codes, products and customers where cash on delivery should not be offered at any price. Both are on the Professional and Enterprise plans. - **Partial COD Payment** — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment - Why related: both change what the buyer is asked for at checkout when they choose cash on delivery. - When to use both: A merchant using both should be clear about which line is which: the deposit is part of the order value paid early, the fee is an additional charge. #### Differences From Related Features - **COD Fees vs COD Rules (COD Show/Hide)** — COD Fees keeps cash on delivery available and prices it. COD Show/Hide decides whether it is available at all. A fee changes the economics of an order; a rule changes whether the order can be cash. They are commonly run together, with the fee broad and the rules narrow. - **COD Fees vs Partial COD Payment** — A COD fee is an additional charge on top of the order total for choosing cash on delivery. A partial payment is part of the existing order total, collected early. The customer pays more in the first case and the same in the second. - **COD Fees vs COD to Prepaid** — Both move buyers toward online payment by changing the relative price. The fee adds cost to cash on delivery and produces revenue toward what it costs; the discount reduces the total on prepaid orders and does not. #### Common Questions - **What is a COD fee?** It is an additional fee charged on an order when the customer chooses cash on delivery. It goes toward the logistics costs a COD order carries and a prepaid one does not, and it gives the customer a reason to pay online instead. Collecting a small additional fee on COD orders is the norm in the industry — more than 70% of merchants already do it. - **Can I charge a fixed amount or a percentage?** Both. You can set a fixed COD fee applied to every cash-on-delivery order, or a percentage-based fee calculated from the order value so larger baskets carry a larger fee. You choose the amount — COD King applies whatever you set. - **Will the customer see the COD fee?** Yes, and that is the point. The fee is displayed clearly at checkout as its own line, so the customer has complete visibility while placing the order and sees the final total before they confirm it. - **Can the fee change from one order to another?** Yes. COD fees can be set based on weight and price range, so a heavy parcel or a high-value basket can carry a different fee from a small, light one rather than every order paying the same amount. - **Will a COD fee stop customers ordering?** It is designed to reduce COD adoption naturally rather than to block it. Cash on delivery stays on your checkout; the customer simply sees what it costs and can switch to online payment, which is how a COD fee also increases prepaid conversions. - **Will this affect my existing checkout or store design?** No. COD King works within your existing Shopify checkout. There are no visual changes to your theme unless you choose to add COD fee labels or messaging, and even those are fully customisable. - **Which plans include COD Fees?** COD fees are included on the Professional and Enterprise plans. Every plan comes with a 7-day free trial and no credit card is required, so you can set a fee and watch it reach your checkout before committing. Official resource for COD Fees: https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees ### COD to Prepaid Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid **One line:** Convert COD users with smart discounts during the checkout flow. #### Overview COD to Prepaid nudges cash-on-delivery buyers to pay fully online instead. When a customer chooses cash on delivery, COD King presents an exclusive prepaid discount — as a banner in the checkout flow, or as a reminder carrying a payment link after the order has been placed — so paying online costs the buyer less than paying on delivery. The discount is attached to the payment option itself, so only orders paid online receive it. The discount rules are fully configurable: a percentage of the cart or a fixed value, with the merchant's own wording and their own conditions for when it applies. The payment link is raised on the merchant's own payment gateway, connected to COD King with its API key and secret. The merchant uses whichever gateway they prefer — Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree and PhonePe are commonly used, and are examples rather than the set of gateways that work. Conversion from cash on delivery to prepaid is tracked in real time inside the app. An order that converts stops being a cash-on-delivery order in every respect that matters: the full amount arrives before the parcel leaves, there is nothing to refuse at the door, and the working capital is in the business rather than with the courier. Everything is set from the COD King dashboard — no theme edits, no code. #### The Merchant Problem The problem is that buyers in cash-on-delivery markets default to cash even where online payment is available and nothing is wrong with it. It is habit as much as preference, and a merchant who does nothing about it inherits the entire risk profile of cash on delivery on orders that could have been prepaid. The cost is twofold. Cash flow: the money settles when the courier settles, so working capital is in transit rather than in the business. And risk: every undelivered cash order can be refused, and a refusal costs freight in both directions plus packaging. A discount at the moment of choice is a small, visible reason to pay now — and every order that takes it is one less parcel that can come back unpaid. #### How It Works Nudge COD buyers to pay fully online with smart discounts and reminders. Convert your COD orders to prepaid by offering a discount, with rules that are fully configurable to your business needs. 1. **Customer chooses COD** — They reach checkout and select cash on delivery, exactly as they do today. 2. **COD King offers a discount** — A banner presents an exclusive prepaid discount, backed by a reminder carrying a payment link. 3. **Customer switches to prepaid** — The discount applies to the online payment option, so paying now costs less than paying later. 4. **Order is paid online** — The full amount is collected upfront and the order carries no cash-on-delivery risk. **In one line:** More prepaid orders → Lower COD risk → Healthier cash flow #### Detailed Behaviour The customer reaches checkout and selects cash on delivery exactly as they do today. COD King presents a banner offering an exclusive prepaid discount, and backs it with a reminder carrying a payment link. The discount applies to the online payment option, so paying now visibly costs less than paying later. If the customer switches, the full amount is collected upfront and the order carries no cash-on-delivery risk. If they do not, the order proceeds as cash on delivery as normal — the nudge does not block anything. The nudge can be shown during the checkout flow, or after the order has already been placed, which is what makes the payment-link reminder useful on orders that are already in the system. #### What It Changes For The Merchant - **More prepaid orders** — A discount the buyer can see at checkout moves the order off cash. - **Lower COD risk** — An order already settled cannot be turned away at the door. - **Better cash flow** — The full order value arrives before the parcel leaves your shelf. - **Reduced RTO exposure** — Every order converted is one less parcel that can return unpaid. #### Capabilities - **Flexible rules** — Set the prepaid discount as a percentage of the cart or as a fixed value. - **Offer a discount** — Apply it to a specific payment option, so only prepaid orders receive it. - **Banner & reminder** — Show the nudge at checkout, or send a reminder with a payment link afterwards. - **Custom messaging** — Set your own wording, and the conditions the discount applies under. - **Your preferred payment gateway** — Connect whichever gateway you already use — Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree and PhonePe among them — with its API key and secret, so the payment link is raised on your own account. - **Easy & simple** — Simple for the customer at checkout, and simple for you to switch on. #### At A Glance - Increase prepaid orders - Reduce COD risk & RTO - Flexible discount rules - Percentage or fixed value - Works with your payment gateway - Simple for customers #### Configuration, Rules And Options - **Discount type** — A percentage of the cart, or a fixed value. - **Which payment options receive it** — A specific type of payment option — online payments receive the discount, cash-on-delivery orders do not. - **Placement** — A banner during the checkout flow, or a reminder carrying a payment link after the order is placed. - **Conditions** — The rules the discount applies under, configurable to the business. - **Messaging** — The merchant's own wording on the banner and the reminder. - **Payment gateway** — The merchant's own, connected with an API key and secret so the payment link is raised on their account. Whichever gateway they prefer — Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree and PhonePe among the common ones, given as examples and not as a supported-provider list. - **Reporting** — COD-to-prepaid conversion, tracked in real time. - **Where it is configured** — The COD King dashboard. No theme edits, no code. Every discount rule, message and payment gateway here is set from the COD King dashboard — no theme edits, no code. #### Merchant Use Cases - A store selling custom products — T-shirts, mugs — that would rather have the order paid for before anything is produced. - A merchant shipping high-cost goods such as furniture or bicycles, where a refused parcel costs freight twice and a prepaid order cannot be refused. - A store selling refurbished goods such as mobiles or printers, where a returned unit has to be re-checked before it can be sold again. - A cash-on-delivery-heavy store with fake orders and high RTO, using the discount to move the willing part of its buyer base off cash entirely. - A merchant who wants to raise prepaid share without removing cash on delivery from the checkout, so no customer is turned away. #### Best Suited For - **Custom products (T-shirts, mugs)** — Production begins before dispatch, so a prepaid order removes the risk of building something for a buyer who then refuses it. - **High shipping cost goods (Furniture, bicycles)** — Freight on bulky goods is the largest single cost of a refusal, and a prepaid order is never refused at the door. - **Refurbished goods (Mobiles, printers)** — A refused refurbished unit has to be re-inspected and re-listed; converting the order to prepaid avoids that path entirely. - **COD-heavy stores (Fake orders, high RTO)** — Where fake orders and high RTO are already a problem, every order moved to prepaid is one removed from the exposed pool. #### Plan Availability Included from the **Pro** plan (₹899/month), and on Enterprise and Enterprise Plus. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial and requires no credit card. #### Product Terminology Merchants search for this control using terms such as "COD to prepaid conversion", "prepaid discount at checkout", "prepaid nudge", "convert COD orders to online payment", "payment link reminder", "increase prepaid share", "discount for paying online" and "reduce cash on delivery orders Shopify". #### What The Product Demonstration Shows - A banner on your Thank You and Order Status pages - A WhatsApp or SMS reminder carrying a secure payment link - Your own wording, and a discount set as a percentage or a fixed value - Track COD-to-prepaid conversion in real time #### Related Features - **COD Fees** — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees - Why related: a discount pulls buyers toward prepaid where a COD fee pushes them; both change the price difference between the two options. - When to use both: Run both when the goal is to shift the payment mix: the fee makes cash the more expensive option and the discount makes prepaid the cheaper one, and the customer sees both at checkout. - **Partial COD Payment** — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment - Why related: the fallback when a buyer will not move fully to prepaid — part of the money now, the balance on delivery. - When to use both: Offer prepaid first and a deposit second, so an order that will not convert entirely still arrives partly paid. - **Abandoned Cart Recovery** — https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery - Why related: both reach the buyer after they have left the checkout, and both are driven by messages sent over SMS or WhatsApp. - When to use both: Run both on a store where some checkouts are abandoned and some completed orders are still unpaid cash — recovery brings the cart back, the prepaid reminder settles the order. #### Differences From Related Features - **COD to Prepaid vs Partial COD Payment** — COD to Prepaid asks for the full amount online in exchange for a discount, and the order stops being a cash order. Partial COD Payment asks for part of the amount and the order stays a cash order for the balance. - **COD to Prepaid vs COD Fees** — Both make prepaid the better-priced option, from opposite directions. A COD fee adds a charge to the cash-on-delivery order; a prepaid discount reduces the total on the online-payment order. The fee also produces revenue toward the cost of cash on delivery, which the discount does not. - **COD to Prepaid vs Abandoned Cart Recovery** — COD to Prepaid acts on an order that exists and asks for it to be paid differently. Abandoned Cart Recovery acts on a checkout that never became an order at all. #### Common Questions - **What is COD to Prepaid?** COD to Prepaid nudges cash-on-delivery buyers to pay fully online instead. COD King shows a banner offering them a discount and sends a reminder carrying a payment link, so more of your orders arrive already paid rather than travelling as cash. - **Can I set the discount as a percentage?** Yes. The prepaid discount can be a percentage of the cart or a fixed value, and the rules are fully configurable to your business needs. - **Can the discount apply only to prepaid payments?** Yes. The discount is attached to a specific type of payment option, so only orders paid online receive it and cash-on-delivery orders do not. - **When does the customer see the nudge?** It can be shown during the checkout flow, or after the order has already been placed — a banner offering the discount, followed by a reminder with a payment link. - **Which payment gateway collects the money?** Your own, and you choose which one. Connect whichever gateway you already use — Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree and PhonePe are common choices, and they are examples rather than a fixed list — with its API key and secret. The payment link in the banner and the reminder is then raised on your account, and nothing is settled through us. Official resource for COD to Prepaid: https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid ### OTP Verification Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification **One line:** Authenticate orders via SMS or WhatsApp to block fake buyers instantly. #### Overview OTP Verification is COD King's order-verification control. When a customer places a cash-on-delivery order, COD King sends a one-time password — a short numeric code — to the mobile number the parcel will be delivered to, over SMS or WhatsApp. The buyer enters that code back into the checkout, which proves the number is theirs and that a real person is behind the order. Only verified orders are accepted; everything else never becomes a parcel. The control detects a cash-on-delivery order at checkout and triggers verification on its own, so the merchant does not have to select which orders to verify. The step appears inside the existing Shopify checkout in the store's own styling, renders correctly on mobile, tablet and desktop, and the code is sent and checked in seconds without the buyer leaving the checkout. For a genuine customer it is one extra moment; for an order placed against a number that does not exist, it is the end of the order. The message itself is the merchant's: the store name, the wording and the branding on every code that goes out are configurable. Verification works on Shopify checkout without code changes, and the reporting inside the app shows verified against unverified orders so the effect is a figure rather than an impression. #### The Merchant Problem The problem OTP Verification exists for is that a cash order carries no proof of intent. Nothing about placing one costs the buyer anything, and nothing about it confirms the phone number is real or reachable. Bots, random entries, mistyped numbers and buyers who never intended to accept the parcel all produce orders that look completely normal in the admin. The cost lands later and lands twice. The order is picked, packed and dispatched; the parcel travels, is refused or undeliverable, and travels back. Freight out, freight back, packaging and the marketing spend that won the order are all gone, on a sale that never existed. Verification moves that discovery to the cheapest possible moment — before the order enters fulfilment, while stopping it costs nothing. #### How It Works Verify every cash-on-delivery order with a single OTP step, so genuine buyers sail through and fake orders never become a parcel you pay to ship twice. 1. **Customer selects the product** — The buyer adds what they want to the cart on your Shopify store, exactly as they do today. 2. **Clicks on checkout** — They reach checkout and choose cash on delivery. Nothing about the page changes. 3. **Verifies mobile number via OTP** — COD King sends a one-time password over SMS or WhatsApp, and the buyer enters it to prove the number is theirs. 4. **Order placed** — Only verified orders are accepted. Everything else never becomes a parcel. #### Detailed Behaviour At checkout, the buyer enters the mobile number the parcel will be delivered to. COD King sends a one-time password to that number over SMS or WhatsApp, and the buyer types the code back into the checkout. Once the code matches, the order is placed and moves on exactly as it did before — the checkout on the far side of the verification is the same screen it was on the near side. An order nobody confirms is not accepted, so unverified numbers and repeat offenders never make it into dispatch. Nothing about the store's design changes: the step is rendered in the store's own styling inside the checkout that was already there. #### What It Changes For The Merchant - **Reduce fake orders** — Fake & spam orders reduced instantly - **Lower RTO** — Lower RTO with genuine customers only - **Save costs** — On shipping, packaging & return costs - **Increase profits** — Increase in profit margins #### Capabilities - **Country targeting** — Ask for verification only in the countries you select, or in every country by default. - **Blocked phone numbers** — Blacklist specific numbers so they can never verify an order on your store. - **SMS, WhatsApp or both** — Choose which channel carries the one-time password, or send it over both. - **Custom OTP branding** — Your store name, your message, your logo on the verification your buyers see. - **Choose what to verify** — Trigger verification on every order, or only on the cash-on-delivery ones. - **Prefilled shipping address** — Fill the buyer's address in from their verified number. Available in India. - **Auto-cancel timer** — Set how long an order waits for confirmation. Unverified orders are cancelled automatically. - **One-pass verification** — A buyer who has already verified is not asked again across tabs or stores. - **Multi-device optimised** — Renders correctly on mobile, tablet and desktop checkout. #### At A Glance - Verify mobile numbers in real time - Block fake and spam orders instantly - Custom OTP message and branding - Delivered over SMS or WhatsApp - No change to your store design - Seamless for genuine customers #### Configuration, Rules And Options - **Delivery channel** — SMS, or WhatsApp. - **Message wording and branding** — The store name, the message text and the wording on every code that goes out. - **Trigger** — Automatic. COD King detects a cash-on-delivery order at checkout and starts verification; there is no per-order selection to make. - **Outcome of an unconfirmed order** — Not accepted. An order nobody verifies never enters fulfilment. - **Cost** — Charged per message. A regional SMS provider can be connected and paid directly in local currency, and Professional and Enterprise earn a discount on notification rates. - **Where it is configured** — The COD King dashboard. Works on Shopify checkout without code changes. #### Merchant Use Cases - A store running paid social traffic that attracts a share of casual or malicious cash orders, and wants them filtered before packing rather than after delivery fails. - A merchant whose courier reports a run of undeliverable numbers, who needs the number on the order to be one that answers. - A store in a WhatsApp-first market where a code delivered over WhatsApp is more likely to be seen and entered than one sent by SMS. - A merchant who wants a defensible number for how many of their cash orders are genuine, using the verified-against-unverified reporting inside the app. #### Plan Availability Included from the **Free** plan (₹0), and on Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial and requires no credit card. - **OTP Verification** — Free: included; Pro: included; Enterprise: included; Enterprise Plus: included. #### Product Terminology Merchants search for this control using terms such as "COD OTP verification", "verify COD orders before shipping", "block fake COD orders on Shopify", "SMS OTP at checkout", "WhatsApp OTP verification", "COD order confirmation", "one-time password checkout Shopify" and "stop fraudulent cash on delivery orders". #### What The Product Demonstration Shows - The verification step, in a live checkout - A code arriving over SMS and WhatsApp - What happens to an order nobody confirms - Verified against unverified orders in the admin #### Related Features - **Partial COD Payment** — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment - Why related: verification proves the buyer is real; a deposit gives them something at stake. - When to use both: Run both when fake orders and refusals are both a problem: the OTP removes the orders that were never real, and the deposit filters the real buyers who were not serious. - **COD Rules (COD Show/Hide)** — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide - Why related: verification checks the cash orders a rule has already allowed through. - When to use both: Run both when some orders should never have been cash in the first place: the rule decides which orders may use cash on delivery, and verification tests the ones that do. - **Abandoned Cart Recovery** — https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery - Why related: both send messages to the buyer over SMS or WhatsApp, and both are included on the free Standard plan. - When to use both: Run both on a store that is losing orders at two different points — one to unverified cash orders, the other to checkouts that were never completed. #### Differences From Related Features - **OTP Verification vs Partial COD Payment** — OTP Verification tests identity — is a real, reachable buyer behind this order — and collects no money. Partial COD Payment tests commitment by collecting part of the order value at checkout. A verified order can still be refused at the door; a part-paid one costs the buyer something to refuse. - **OTP Verification vs COD Rules (COD Show/Hide)** — COD Show/Hide decides whether cash on delivery is offered before the buyer chooses it. OTP Verification runs after they have chosen it, on the order itself. One narrows which orders can be cash; the other checks the ones that are. #### Common Questions - **Does COD King work with all Shopify themes?** Yes. COD King integrates directly with Shopify and works with all themes. No coding or developer skills are required, and setup takes less than 10 minutes. - **How does OTP verification reduce fake orders?** When a customer places a COD order, COD King sends them a one-time password over SMS or WhatsApp. The order is only confirmed once they enter the correct code, which blocks bots, random entries, and fake buyers instantly. - **Is COD Order Verification the same as OTP verification?** No. OTP verification checks at the checkout that a real, reachable buyer is behind the order. COD Order Verification is your own decision, after the order exists, about whether to send it — confirm, hold or cancel. Official resource for OTP Verification: https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification ### Partial COD Payment Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment **One line:** Collect a fixed or percentage deposit upfront to secure buyer commitment. #### Overview Partial COD Payment lets a merchant collect a small token amount from the customer at checkout and collect the remaining balance on delivery. The advance can be a fixed sum or a percentage of the cart value, and it is paid online through Shopify Payments or whichever gateway the store already uses — there is nothing new to connect. The balance is still collected as cash on delivery exactly as it is today. The point of the deposit is not the money on its own; it is what asking for it does to the order mix. A buyer who was never going to accept the parcel does not pay a deposit for it, so those orders drop out at checkout instead of being discovered at the door. The orders that continue are ones somebody has already paid toward, and part of the merchant's cost is recovered before the parcel leaves the shelf. The deposit can be scoped rather than applied to everything: it can run on the whole store, or only on specific products, collections or tags. The checkout messaging that explains it is the merchant's own, which matters because a deposit is a change to how the store asks for money and buyers respond to how it is explained. It is enabled from the COD King dashboard in minutes, with no coding and no theme edits. #### The Merchant Problem The problem is commitment. Cash on delivery costs a buyer nothing at the moment of ordering, so an order is an intention rather than an agreement — and there is no way to tell an intention from an agreement at the moment of dispatch. The merchant funds packaging, forward freight and working capital for both. The consequences are refusals, cancellations after dispatch, and cash flow that only arrives when the courier settles. A deposit changes the arithmetic on the buyer's side: refusing the parcel now costs them something. It also changes it on the merchant's side, because the money is in before the parcel goes out — and when the deposit is set to cover shipping, a refused parcel no longer leaves the merchant paying freight out and freight back with nothing collected. #### How It Works Take a small token amount from the customer at checkout and collect the remaining balance on delivery. Genuine buyers commit, non-serious ones drop out, and the parcel you ship is one somebody has already paid for. 1. **Customer places order** — Adds products to the cart and proceeds to checkout as usual. 2. **Pays a small amount now** — A fixed amount or a percentage, paid online through your gateway. 3. **Order is confirmed & shipped** — You ship with confidence, because only genuine buyers got this far. 4. **Customer pays the remaining** — The balance is collected as cash on delivery, exactly as before. **In one line:** Only genuine buyers continue → Lower RTO → Higher profits #### Detailed Behaviour The customer adds products to the cart and proceeds to checkout as usual. At checkout they pay a small amount now — a fixed amount or a percentage — online through the store's gateway, alongside the cash-on-delivery option rather than instead of it. The order is then confirmed and shipped, and the customer pays the remaining balance on delivery, exactly as before. The merchant's own text at checkout explains what the deposit is and why it is being asked for. Everything else about the checkout is unchanged, and the balance still arrives as cash through the courier. #### What It Changes For The Merchant - **Reduce fake orders** — Only serious buyers place orders - **Lower RTO** — Lower return-to-origin losses - **Better cash flow** — Collected even on COD orders - **Increase conversions** — With higher buyer trust #### Capabilities - **Flexible rules** — Set the partial payment as a percentage of the cart or a fixed value. - **Offer a discount** — Apply a discount to prepaid or partial-payment orders to nudge buyers. - **Cover shipping charges** — Collect the shipping cost upfront so a refused parcel costs you less. - **Product & collection based** — Enable it for specific products, collections or tags rather than everything. - **Custom messaging** — Show your own text at checkout to explain the deposit and build confidence. - **Easy to configure** — Enable it in minutes from the dashboard. No coding, no theme edits. #### At A Glance - Reduce fake COD orders - Lower RTO & return losses - Improve cash flow - Increase customer trust - Works with all products - Set flexible rules #### Configuration, Rules And Options - **Deposit amount** — A percentage of the cart value, or a fixed amount. - **Shipping-cost deposit** — A setting rather than a separate feature: set the deposit to the store's shipping cost and the delivery is covered before the parcel leaves. - **Scope** — The whole store, or only selected products, collections or tags. - **Discount** — Optional, applied to prepaid or partial-payment orders. - **Checkout messaging** — The merchant's own text explaining the deposit. - **Payment gateway** — Whichever gateway the store already uses — the merchant's choice, not a fixed list. Nothing new to connect, and the balance still arrives as cash on delivery. The gateway must be set to auto-capture, or the deposit is authorised without being collected. - **Rate charged by COD King** — A per-order partial payment rate set by the plan, charged only on the orders that use the feature. - **Where it is configured** — The COD King dashboard, in minutes. No coding, no theme edits. #### Merchant Use Cases - A store selling custom-printed items — T-shirts, mugs — that cannot be restocked if the parcel is refused, and wants the buyer to have paid something before production starts. - A merchant shipping furniture or appliances, where forward and return freight on a refused parcel is the single largest avoidable cost, setting the deposit to cover shipping. - A store selling refurbished goods, where a returned unit has to be re-inspected before it can be sold again. - A made-to-order business that wants non-serious orders to drop out at checkout rather than at the door. - Any cash-on-delivery-heavy store that wants part of the order value in the business before the parcel leaves, rather than after the courier settles. #### Best Suited For - **Custom products (T-shirts, mugs)** — A custom-printed item is produced for one buyer and cannot go back on the shelf, so a refused parcel is a total loss rather than a delayed sale — a deposit means the buyer has paid toward the item before it is made. - **High shipping cost items (Furniture, appliances)** — Freight dominates the cost of a heavy or bulky parcel, and a refusal doubles it. A deposit set at the shipping cost removes that exposure entirely. - **Refurbished products** — Refurbished stock has to be checked and re-listed after a return, so the cost of a refusal is more than the freight — the deposit filters buyers who were never going to accept it. - **Made-to-order items** — Production starts before dispatch, so the merchant is committed long before the buyer is. A deposit moves the buyer's commitment forward to match. - **All COD-heavy stores** — When most orders arrive as cash, the whole business is exposed to refusals. A deposit applies a filter to all of them at the moment of ordering. #### Plan Availability Included from the **Free** plan (₹0), and on Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial and requires no credit card. - **Partial Payment (fee per order)** — Free: 1.5%; Pro: 0.8%; Enterprise: 0.5%; Enterprise Plus: 0.5%. #### Product Terminology Merchants search for this control using terms such as "partial COD payment", "advance payment on COD orders", "token amount at checkout", "deposit before shipping", "collect shipping charges upfront", "part payment Shopify app", "COD advance percentage" and "pay a little now, rest on delivery". #### What The Product Demonstration Shows - Flexible rules based on % or fixed amount - Collect shipping charges upfront - Works on selected products, collections or your whole store - Easy setup — enable it in one click #### Related Features - **COD to Prepaid** — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid - Why related: a deposit takes part of the money upfront; a prepaid discount moves the whole order online. - When to use both: Offer the prepaid discount first and fall back to a deposit for the buyers who still want to pay cash — the order is then either fully paid or partly paid, but never entirely unpaid. - **OTP Verification** — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification - Why related: the two are usually run together — one confirms the buyer, the other commits them. - When to use both: Run both on stores where fake orders and genuine-but-casual buyers are both producing refusals. - **COD Fees** — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees - Why related: both change what a cash order asks of the buyer at checkout — one collects part of the order value, the other adds a charge on top of it. - When to use both: Use a fee when the goal is to cover the cost of cash on delivery, and a deposit when the goal is to secure commitment; a store can do both, but should be clear which line at checkout is which. #### Differences From Related Features - **Partial COD Payment vs COD Fees** — A partial payment is part of the order value, collected early — the customer pays no more in total. A COD fee is an additional charge on top of the order for choosing cash on delivery. One brings money forward; the other adds money. - **Partial COD Payment vs COD to Prepaid** — Partial COD Payment keeps the order on cash on delivery and collects a deposit against it. COD to Prepaid moves the order off cash on delivery entirely by offering a discount for paying the full amount online. The first reduces the exposure on a cash order; the second removes it. - **Partial COD Payment vs OTP Verification** — OTP Verification confirms who the buyer is and collects nothing. Partial COD Payment collects money and confirms nothing about identity. They test different things and are commonly run together. #### Common Questions - **What is partial payment?** Partial payment lets you collect a small token amount — a fixed sum or a percentage of the cart — from the customer at checkout, and collect the remaining balance on delivery. It filters out buyers who were never going to accept the parcel, which reduces fake orders and RTO while bringing some of your money in earlier. - **Can I collect a partial payment on COD orders?** Yes. You can collect any amount — a fixed sum or a percentage — as an advance payment at checkout. Customers pay it securely through Shopify's payment gateway, and the balance is collected on delivery. - **Can I set the deposit as a percentage?** Yes. The deposit can be a fixed amount or a percentage of the cart value, and you can set it for your whole store or only for specific products, collections or tags. - **Can I collect only the shipping charges upfront?** Yes. Setting the deposit to your shipping cost means a refused parcel no longer leaves you paying freight out and freight back — the delivery is already covered before the order ships. - **Does it work with my payment gateway?** Yes — you use whichever payment gateway you prefer. The deposit is taken through the gateway your store already runs, so there is nothing new to sign up for, and the balance is still collected as cash on delivery exactly as it is today. One setting to check: your gateway must be set to auto-capture, or the deposit is authorised without ever being collected. When a customer enters the mobile number the parcel will be delivered to, COD King fetches their information from that number or from the orders they have placed with the store before, and the name and address arrive on the screen already written. The purpose is a shorter checkout and a more accurate one. Every field a customer does not type is a field they cannot mistype, and a mistyped address is a parcel that leaves the warehouse and cannot be delivered. Prefilled values are ordinary checkout fields, so a customer who has moved simply types over them. It runs on the Shopify checkout the store already has, with no theme edits and no code, and it is available on every plan including the free Standard one. #### The Merchant Problem The delivery step is the longest part of a cash-on-delivery checkout, and in the markets where cash on delivery dominates it is usually being typed on a phone. Name, address, area, city, PIN code — five or six fields, entered by someone who has entered them before, at the exact point in the purchase where a buyer is most likely to abandon. The cost of getting one of them wrong lands later. A wrong digit in a PIN code or a missing line of an address produces an order that looks completely normal in the admin and a parcel that cannot be delivered. The freight out, the freight back and the packaging are all spent before anyone discovers it. #### How It Works COD King fills your Shopify checkout from what the customer has already given you — their phone number, or the details on the orders they placed before. There is less to type, so there is less to mistype, and fewer parcels leave on an address that was never right. 1. **The customer reaches checkout** — A buyer opens your Shopify checkout to place a cash-on-delivery order. 2. **They enter their phone number** — The number the parcel will be delivered to is the one thing the checkout asks for first. 3. **COD King fetches their details** — Details are looked up from that number, or from the orders the customer has placed with you before. 4. **The form arrives filled in** — Name and delivery address are populated automatically, ready to be checked rather than composed. 5. **The order goes through** — The buyer confirms what is on screen and places the cash-on-delivery order. **In one line:** Their number → Details you already hold → A checkout with almost nothing left to type #### Detailed Behaviour A buyer reaches the checkout and enters their mobile number, which is a field they were going to fill anyway. COD King looks up their details from that number or from their past orders with the store, and populates the remaining delivery fields automatically — there is nothing for the customer to press. The customer checks what is on screen, changes anything that has moved, and places the order. Nothing about the store's design changes; the fields are the checkout's own. #### What It Changes For The Merchant - **A shorter checkout** — Details the customer has already given you are filled in rather than asked for a second time. - **Fewer wrong addresses** — Every field a customer does not type is a field they cannot get wrong. - **Returning buyers recognised** — A customer who has ordered before does not start again from an empty form. - **A parcel the courier can deliver** — An address corrected at the checkout is one nobody has to chase after the parcel has left. #### Capabilities - **Lookup by phone number** — Fetch a customer's details from the mobile number the parcel will be delivered to. - **Details from past orders** — A returning customer's previous delivery details are offered rather than retyped. - **Filled automatically** — Fields populate as soon as the customer is recognised. There is nothing for them to press. - **Checked, not committed** — Prefilled values are ordinary checkout fields, so a buyer who has moved simply changes them. - **Fewer typing errors** — Cut the typing errors that send parcels to the wrong address in the first place. - **Inside your existing checkout** — It runs on the Shopify checkout you already have — no theme edits, no code, no developer. #### At A Glance - Filled from their number - Details from past orders - Fetched automatically - Fewer address typos - A shorter checkout - No theme edits #### Configuration, Rules And Options - **Where the details come from** — The customer's phone number, or the delivery details on the orders they have placed with this store before. - **Trigger** — Automatic, once the customer is recognised. There is no per-order selection and nothing for the buyer to press. - **Whether the customer can change it** — Yes. Prefilled values are ordinary checkout fields and are typed over like any other. - **Where it is configured** — The COD King dashboard. It runs on the existing Shopify checkout with no theme edits and no code. Prefilled Address is on every plan, including the free Standard plan. It runs on your existing Shopify checkout — no theme edits, no code. #### Merchant Use Cases - A mobile-first store where the delivery address is being typed with a thumb and every field costs completion. - A store with a base of repeat buyers whose details it already holds from previous orders. - A cash-on-delivery catalogue where the address is not a billing detail but the delivery itself, and getting it wrong means the parcel comes back. - A store watching buyers give up part-way through a long checkout form. #### Best Suited For - **Mobile-first stores (Typing on a phone)** — Typing an address on a phone is where checkout length turns into abandonment, and this removes most of the typing. - **Stores with repeat buyers (Details already on file)** — A returning customer's details are already in the store's own order history, so asking for them again is asking twice. - **COD-heavy catalogues (Where the address is the delivery)** — On a cash order the address is the delivery, so an error in it is a parcel that travels twice and is never paid for. - **Long checkout forms (Where buyers give up part-way)** — The delivery step is the longest part of the form, and shortening it is the most direct thing a merchant can do about drop-off there. #### Plan Availability Included from the **Free** plan (₹0), and on Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial and requires no credit card. #### Product Terminology Merchants search for this control using terms such as "prefilled address Shopify checkout", "autofill customer address COD", "fetch customer details from phone number", "faster COD checkout", "reduce address errors Shopify" and "prefill delivery details returning customer". #### Related Features - **OTP Verification** — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification - Why related: both start from the mobile number the parcel will be delivered to. - When to use both: Run both and the number does two jobs at once: it verifies the buyer and it brings back their address. - **Order Verification** — https://codking.tech/features/order-verification - Why related: a prefilled address is one fewer reason for an order to need a second look before dispatch. - When to use both: Run both when address quality is the reason orders are being held: fewer errors arrive, and the ones that do are still caught before packing. #### Differences From Related Features - **Prefilled Address vs OTP Verification** — OTP Verification proves the number belongs to the buyer. Prefilled Address uses the number to fill the form. One is a check on the order; the other is a convenience on the checkout, and neither depends on the other. #### Common Questions - **Where do the prefilled details come from?** From details you already hold. COD King fetches the customer's information from the phone number the parcel will be delivered to, or from the orders they have placed with you before, and fills the checkout with it. - **Can the customer change a prefilled address?** Yes. Prefilled values are ordinary fields on your Shopify checkout, so a customer who has moved simply types over them before placing the order. - **Does it work with my existing checkout?** Yes. It fills the Shopify checkout you already have rather than replacing it, so there are no theme edits, no code and nothing to deploy. - **What happens for a first-time customer?** The checkout behaves exactly as it does today. There is nothing on file to fetch for a buyer you have not sold to before, so they type their details once — and the next order is the one that fills itself. - **Why does typing less matter on a COD order?** Because a mistyped address is a parcel that cannot be delivered, and on cash on delivery an undeliverable parcel is freight paid twice with nothing collected. Fewer fields typed by hand is fewer places for that to start. Official resource for Prefilled Address: https://codking.tech/features/address-validation ### Abandoned Cart Recovery Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery **One line:** Win back lost revenue with automated reminders on WhatsApp and SMS. #### Overview Abandoned Cart Recovery brings back cash-on-delivery buyers who started checkout and did not finish it. COD King sends timely reminders over SMS or WhatsApp as an automated multi-step sequence, and every reminder carries a direct checkout link so the buyer returns to the cart they already filled rather than searching for the products again. The sequence runs on its own once it is switched on. It is a sequence rather than a single message deliberately: a buyer who misses the first reminder still hears from the store, and messages go out while the checkout is still fresh in the buyer's mind. Reminder timing, channel and message are all set from the COD King dashboard — no theme edits, no code. It is aimed specifically at cash-on-delivery checkouts that were started and never completed, and it is included on every plan, including the free Standard plan. There is no separate charge for the feature itself; the merchant pays for the messages it sends, and a local SMS provider can be connected to reduce that cost. #### The Merchant Problem The problem is that a store cannot see why a buyer left. The cart was filled, the checkout was reached, and then nothing — and without a follow-up, that is the end of it. Abandoned checkouts are the quietest loss in a store, because nothing about them demands attention the way a refused parcel does. What makes it worth fixing is that the buyer has already done the expensive part. They found the store, chose the product and reached the checkout, all of which the merchant has already paid for in traffic. A reminder on a channel they actually read, carrying a link back to the cart they already built, is the shortest path from a lost checkout back to an order. #### How It Works Recover lost sales by sending timely SMS and WhatsApp reminders to COD buyers who didn't complete checkout. Every reminder carries a link straight back to the cart, so coming back takes one tap. 1. **Customer starts checkout** — They reach your Shopify checkout with a cash-on-delivery cart ready to place. 2. **They leave without ordering** — The checkout is abandoned, and the sale is lost unless somebody follows it up. 3. **COD King sends a reminder** — A timely message goes out over SMS or WhatsApp, as part of an automated sequence. 4. **Customer taps the link** — The reminder carries a direct checkout link, so returning is one tap rather than a search. 5. **The sale is recovered** — The order is placed, and revenue that had already been written off comes back. **In one line:** Abandoned checkout → Timely reminder → Recovered order #### Detailed Behaviour The customer reaches the Shopify checkout with a cash-on-delivery cart ready to place, and leaves without ordering. COD King treats that as an abandoned checkout and starts the reminder sequence: a timely message goes out over SMS or WhatsApp, and further reminders follow as part of the automated sequence rather than stopping at one. Each reminder carries a direct checkout link. The customer taps it and returns to the cart they already filled — no rebuilding, no searching — and completes the order, at which point the sale that had been written off comes back. #### What It Changes For The Merchant - **Recover lost revenue** — A checkout that was abandoned becomes an order again. - **Reach buyers where they are** — Reminders arrive on the channel the buyer actually reads. - **A one-tap way back** — Every reminder carries a link straight back to the cart. - **No manual chasing** — The sequence runs itself once you have switched it on. #### Capabilities - **Multi-step sequences** — Automated reminder sequences rather than one message that is easy to miss. - **SMS or WhatsApp** — Send over whichever channel your buyers actually read and reply on. - **Direct checkout link** — Every reminder carries a link back to the cart, so returning takes one tap. - **Timely reminders** — Messages go out while the checkout is still fresh in the buyer's mind. - **Runs on autopilot** — Set the sequence once and recovery keeps running without you touching it. - **Built for COD buyers** — Aimed at the cash-on-delivery checkouts that were started and never finished. #### At A Glance - Recover lost COD sales - Automated reminder sequences - SMS or WhatsApp delivery - Direct checkout link - Runs on autopilot - Included on every plan #### Configuration, Rules And Options - **Channel** — SMS, or WhatsApp. Both are sent from COD King. - **Sequence** — Multi-step and automated rather than a single message; it runs on its own once switched on. - **Timing** — Set from the dashboard, and intended to reach the buyer while the checkout is still fresh. - **Message content** — The merchant's own message. Every reminder carries a direct checkout link back to the filled cart. - **Cost** — No charge for the feature on any plan, including the free one; the merchant pays for the messages sent. A regional provider can be connected and paid directly in local currency, and Professional and Enterprise earn a discount on notification rates. - **Where it is configured** — The COD King dashboard. No theme edits, no code. Reminder timing, channel and message are all set from the COD King dashboard — no theme edits, no code. #### Merchant Use Cases - A cash-on-delivery-heavy store with a run of carts left unfinished, where the products were chosen but the checkout was never completed. - A store with high-value carts, where a single recovered checkout is worth more than the messages it takes to recover it. - A high-traffic store where many checkouts are started and no one could follow them up by hand. - A merchant selling into WhatsApp-first markets such as India, the UAE or the Philippines, where a WhatsApp reminder is read and an email is not. - A store on the free Standard plan that wants recovery running before it pays for anything else. #### Best Suited For - **COD-heavy stores (Carts left unfinished)** — Cash-on-delivery buyers abandon checkout at the point where they would have to commit, and a reminder reaches them at exactly the moment the decision is still live. - **High-value carts (Each one worth chasing)** — The economics are obvious on a large cart — the cost of a handful of messages is trivial against the value of the order they bring back. - **High-traffic stores (Many checkouts started)** — At volume, abandoned checkouts are a continuous stream that no one can chase manually; an automated sequence is the only way to work through them. - **WhatsApp-first markets (India, UAE, Philippines)** — In markets where WhatsApp is the default channel, a reminder there is read within minutes, and the direct checkout link makes returning a single tap. #### Plan Availability Included from the **Free** plan (₹0), and on Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial and requires no credit card. - **Abandoned Cart Recovery** — Free: included; Pro: included; Enterprise: included; Enterprise Plus: included. #### Product Terminology Merchants search for this control using terms such as "abandoned cart recovery for Shopify", "abandoned checkout reminders", "WhatsApp cart recovery", "SMS cart reminders", "recover abandoned COD carts", "cart recovery sequence" and "checkout link reminder". #### What The Product Demonstration Shows - Automated multi-step reminder sequences - Sent over SMS or WhatsApp, whichever suits - A direct checkout link in every reminder - Included on every plan, including the free one #### Related Features - **COD to Prepaid** — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid - Why related: both act once the buyer has left the checkout — one on the cart that was never placed, the other on the order that was. - When to use both: Run both to cover the whole tail of the funnel: recovery returns the buyer to an unfinished cart, and the prepaid reminder converts the cash order they then place. - **OTP Verification** — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification - Why related: both are messaging-driven controls included on the free Standard plan, and both are billed by the messages they send. - When to use both: A store already paying for OTP messages can add recovery without a plan change, and can connect one local SMS provider that serves both. #### Differences From Related Features - **Abandoned Cart Recovery vs COD to Prepaid** — Abandoned Cart Recovery acts on a checkout that never became an order. COD to Prepaid acts on an order that exists and asks for it to be paid online instead. Both can involve a message after the fact, but they are chasing two different things. - **Abandoned Cart Recovery vs OTP Verification** — OTP Verification stops orders that should not proceed. Abandoned Cart Recovery restarts orders that should have proceeded and did not. One reduces the order count, the other increases it. #### Common Questions - **What is abandoned cart recovery?** It recovers lost sales by sending timely SMS or WhatsApp reminders to COD buyers who started checkout and did not complete it. Each reminder carries a link straight back to the cart, so the buyer can finish the order they had already begun. - **Are reminders sent over SMS or WhatsApp?** Either — whichever your buyers prefer. Both are sent from COD King, and local SMS provider integration is available in most countries so you can route messages through a regional provider. - **How many reminders does a customer get?** Recovery runs as an automated multi-step sequence rather than a single message, so a buyer who misses the first reminder still hears from you. The sequence runs on its own once it is switched on. - **Does the customer have to rebuild their cart?** No. Every reminder includes a direct checkout link, so the buyer returns to the cart they already filled rather than searching for the products again. - **Which plans include abandoned cart recovery?** Every plan, including the free Standard plan. There is no separate charge for the feature itself — you pay only for the messages you send. Official resource for Abandoned Cart Recovery: https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery ### Order Verification Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/features/order-verification **One line:** Confirm, hold, or cancel COD orders before they ship. #### Overview Order Verification is the merchant's own decision about a cash-on-delivery order, taken after the order exists and before the parcel does. Every COD order waits for one of three answers — confirm it, hold it, or cancel it — rather than passing straight through to fulfilment. Confirmed orders carry on and are packed. Held orders wait for a second look without being cancelled, which is what a merchant needs for the order they are not sure about rather than the one they have decided against. Cancelled orders stop before they are picked, packed or handed to a courier, which is the cheapest moment there is to stop one. It acts on cash orders. An order already paid online is not waiting on a decision. Orders are reviewed from the COD King dashboard, with no theme edits and no code, and the control is on the Enterprise plan. #### The Merchant Problem The order stage this control belongs to states the problem plainly: orders are placed but unverified orders ship anyway and come back. A cash order that nobody looked at is a cash order that has already been approved by default, and default approval is how a store discovers a bad order at the door rather than in the admin. Everything that happens after that point costs money on a sale that never happened — the picking, the packing, the freight out, the freight back. None of it is recoverable, and all of it was decided at the moment nobody looked. #### How It Works Cash-on-delivery orders reach COD King as a queue rather than as a decision already made. Confirm the ones you are happy to send, hold the ones you want to look at again, and cancel the rest — all of it before the parcel is picked, packed or dispatched. 1. **A COD order is placed** — A buyer completes your Shopify checkout and the cash-on-delivery order lands in the store. 2. **It arrives for review** — COD King holds the order for a decision rather than passing it straight through to fulfilment. 3. **You confirm, hold or cancel** — Confirm the ones you are happy to send, hold the ones you want to look at again, cancel the rest. 4. **Only confirmed orders ship** — The parcel is packed for an order somebody decided to send, not for one that was never stopped. **In one line:** Every cash order → Confirmed, held or cancelled → Only the confirmed ones ship #### Detailed Behaviour A buyer completes the Shopify checkout and the cash-on-delivery order lands in the store. COD King holds it for a decision rather than passing it to fulfilment. The merchant confirms the orders they are happy to send, holds the ones they want to look at again, and cancels the rest. Only confirmed orders move on, so the parcel that gets packed is one somebody decided to send. #### What It Changes For The Merchant - **A decision, not a default** — A cash order waits on a confirm, a hold or a cancel rather than moving to fulfilment by itself. - **Somewhere to put a maybe** — An order that needs a second look does not have to be cancelled in order to be stopped. - **Stopped at the cheapest moment** — An order cancelled here costs no picking, no packing, no freight out and no freight back. - **The last gate on a cash order** — Unverified orders shipping anyway and coming back is the problem this stage exists to close. #### Capabilities - **Confirm an order** — Mark a cash-on-delivery order as good to send, and it carries on to fulfilment. - **Hold an order** — Park an order you are not sure about, without cancelling it and without shipping it. - **Cancel an order** — Stop an order outright, before it is picked, packed or handed to a courier. - **Ahead of dispatch** — The decision happens before the parcel exists, which is the cheapest moment to make it. - **Cash orders only** — This is the gate on cash on delivery. An order already paid online is not waiting on anything. - **From the COD King dashboard** — Orders are reviewed inside the app — no theme edits, no code, nothing added to your checkout. #### At A Glance - Confirm before dispatch - Hold anything doubtful - Cancel what shouldn't ship - Cash orders only - Every COD order reviewed - No theme edits #### Configuration, Rules And Options - **The decisions available** — Confirm, hold, or cancel. - **Which orders it applies to** — Cash-on-delivery orders. An order already paid online is not waiting on anything. - **When the decision is taken** — Before dispatch — ahead of picking, packing and handing the parcel to a courier. - **Where it is configured** — The COD King dashboard. Orders are reviewed inside the app; nothing is added to the checkout. COD Order Verification is on the Enterprise plan. Orders are reviewed from the COD King dashboard — no theme edits, no code. #### Merchant Use Cases - A store whose cash orders are large enough that a single refusal is worth a minute of somebody's attention. - A merchant selling made-to-order or custom products, where a refused parcel cannot go back on the shelf. - A store working on its RTO rate that wants a gate between the order and the warehouse. - A team already calling buyers to confirm cash orders, which needs one place to record what the call decided. #### Best Suited For - **High-value cash orders (Where one refusal hurts)** — The larger the cash order, the more a single refusal costs and the more a deliberate decision is worth. - **Made-to-order products (Refused stock cannot be resold)** — A custom or made-to-order item that comes back cannot be resold, so stopping the order is the only recovery available. - **Stores fighting RTO (Stopped before it leaves)** — Return-to-origin is decided before dispatch, and this is the last point at which that decision can still be changed. - **Teams already calling buyers (One place to record the answer)** — A team already phoning buyers has the information; what it lacks is somewhere for the answer to live that fulfilment will respect. #### Plan Availability Included from the **Enterprise** plan (₹1,999/month), and on Enterprise Plus. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial and requires no credit card. #### Product Terminology Merchants search for this control using terms such as "confirm COD orders before shipping", "hold COD order Shopify", "cancel cash on delivery order before dispatch", "COD order review queue", "manual COD order confirmation" and "stop RTO before dispatch". #### Related Features - **OTP Verification** — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification - Why related: verification removes the orders that were never real; this decides on the ones that were. - When to use both: Run both when fake orders and doubtful ones are separate problems: the OTP filters at checkout, and the review decides what is left. - **COD Rules (COD Show/Hide)** — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide - Why related: a rule stops an order being cash at all; this stops a cash order that was allowed through. - When to use both: Run both when some orders should never have been cash and others simply need looking at — the rule is the policy, the review is the exception. #### Differences From Related Features - **Order Verification vs OTP Verification** — OTP Verification is automatic and happens at the checkout: it proves a real, reachable buyer is behind the order. Order Verification is the merchant's own judgement, taken afterwards, about whether to send it. One tests the buyer; the other decides the order. - **Order Verification vs COD Rules (COD Show/Hide)** — COD Show/Hide decides before the order exists whether cash on delivery may be used at all. Order Verification decides after it exists whether it ships. The first is a rule applied to every checkout; the second is a decision taken per order. #### Common Questions - **What can I do with a COD order before it ships?** Confirm it, hold it, or cancel it. Confirmed orders carry on to fulfilment, held orders wait for a second look, and cancelled orders stop before they are picked or packed. - **Is COD Order Verification the same as OTP verification?** No. OTP verification checks at the checkout that a real, reachable buyer is behind the order. COD Order Verification is your own decision, after the order exists, about whether to send it — confirm, hold or cancel. - **When is an order held for review?** As soon as it is placed. A cash-on-delivery order reaches COD King as a queue entry rather than as a decision already made, so it waits for confirm, hold or cancel instead of passing straight through to fulfilment. - **What happens to an order I put on hold?** It stops where it is and waits for a second look. A held order is not cancelled and not confirmed — it stays in the queue until you decide, and nothing is picked or packed for it in the meantime. - **Can I cancel a COD order before dispatch?** Yes, and that is the point of reviewing before the parcel exists. A cancelled order stops before it is picked, packed or handed to a courier, so there is no freight out and no freight back. - **Where are orders reviewed?** In the COD King dashboard, inside the app. There are no theme edits and no code, and nothing is added to your Shopify checkout. Official resource for Order Verification: https://codking.tech/features/order-verification ### Messaging Gateways / Local SMS Gateway Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/features/messaging-gateways **One line:** Connect a local SMS operator and cut messaging costs by up to 60%. #### Overview Messaging Gateways — marketed as Local SMS Gateway, and shown in the dashboard as Local SMS Operators — is the control that decides which operator COD King’s messages leave on. A merchant selects one of fifteen local SMS and WhatsApp operators from a dropdown, and from then on every one-time password, order notification and abandoned-cart reminder the product sends goes out through it. The reason to do this is cost, and the product calls the arrangement the direct-to-operator payment model. SMS charges are paid to the selected operator directly, at that operator’s standard rates, with no markup added by COD King; the COD King subscription pays for platform features and support and nothing else. Integrating a local operator reduces messaging costs by up to 60%. The saving is a ceiling rather than an average. Four of the operators carry worldwide coverage — Twilio, Wavecell, Chat API for WhatsApp, and ProWebSms (Smshare). The other eleven are each listed for a single market: Veevotech and Branded SMS in Pakistan, iSmart in Oman, Winsmspro in Tunisia, eSMS in Vietnam, PalPigeon in Turkey, Movider in the Philippines, BoomCast and BulkSmsBdService in Bangladesh, SmsMisr in Egypt and ThaiBulkSMS in Thailand. Local operator integration is available for all regions except India. #### The Merchant Problem Every control in this product that touches a buyer touches them through a message, and messages are billed per send. A store verifying every cash order pays for a code on every cash order; a store recovering abandoned checkouts pays for each step of the sequence. At volume the messaging bill stops being incidental. The default arrangement — buying messages through the app — puts a platform between the merchant and the operator carrying the traffic. Selecting the operator that already serves the market moves the volume onto that operator’s own rates and moves the billing relationship to the party actually carrying it, which is what removes the markup. #### How It Works Integrate with local SMS and WhatsApp operators and benefit from transparent, cost-effective messaging. COD King sends every one-time password, order notification and cart reminder through the operator you select, and the SMS charges are settled with that operator directly at their standard rates. 1. **Choose your operator** — Pick the local operator for your market from the fifteen listed further down this page. 2. **Move to Enterprise** — Local SMS Operator Integration is the Enterprise plan's, so the operator picker unlocks with the upgrade. 3. **Select it in the dashboard** — Choose the operator from the network operator dropdown. No theme edits, no code, nothing to deploy. 4. **Messages route through it** — Every OTP, order notification and abandoned-cart reminder COD King sends leaves on that operator. 5. **You pay the operator** — SMS charges are billed by the operator directly, at their standard rates, with no markup added. **In one line:** COD King → Your selected operator → Your customer #### Detailed Behaviour The merchant selects an operator from the network operator dropdown in the COD King dashboard. There are no theme edits and no code; the operator is a setting rather than an integration project. Until one is selected the picker sits on its default, Cod King, and messages leave on COD King’s own sending. From that point COD King sends through the selected operator, and that operator bills the merchant for the SMS charges directly at their standard rates. Nothing about what the messages say changes — the store name, the wording and the branding on an OTP are configured with the OTP control, not here. #### What It Changes For The Merchant - **Local rates, not marked-up ones** — Integrating a local operator is what reduces the messaging cost, and the saving is a ceiling rather than an average. - **Paid to the operator, not through us** — SMS charges are settled with the operator you selected, at that operator's own standard rates. - **The subscription buys the platform** — Your COD King plan pays for the platform features and the support behind them, and nothing else. - **An operator for your market** — Four with worldwide coverage and eleven listed for a single market, available in all regions except India. #### Capabilities - **Fifteen local operators** — Four with worldwide coverage and eleven listed for a single market, from Pakistan and Oman to Vietnam and Thailand. - **SMS and WhatsApp** — Chat API is listed for WhatsApp worldwide, so the channel your customers read on is a choice rather than a constraint. - **Direct-to-operator billing** — SMS charges go to the operator you selected at their standard rates, with no markup added by COD King. - **A subscription for the platform** — Your plan pays for platform features and support — it is not a messaging bundle you buy through. - **Every message COD King sends** — OTP codes, order notifications and abandoned-cart reminders all leave on the same operator. - **Available outside India** — Local operator integration is available for all regions except India, where messaging stays on COD King's own sending. #### At A Glance - 15 local operators - Pay operators directly - No messaging markup - Competitive local rates - OTP, alerts & reminders - All regions except India #### Configuration, Rules And Options - **Which operator** — One of the fifteen the network operator dropdown lists. The Local SMS Operator Integration page renders that list in full, with each operator’s coverage. - **Who bills for volume** — The selected operator, directly, at their standard rates. COD King adds no markup and the subscription covers platform features and support only. - **What sends through it** — Every message COD King sends — one-time passwords, order notifications and abandoned-cart reminders. - **Where it is available** — All regions except India. Four operators carry worldwide coverage; the other eleven are each listed for a single market. - **Where it is configured** — The COD King dashboard. No theme edits, no code. Local SMS Operator Integration is on the Enterprise plan. The operator is chosen from a dropdown in the COD King dashboard — no theme edits, no code. #### Merchant Use Cases - A store verifying every cash-on-delivery order with a one-time password, where the messaging bill scales directly with order volume. - A merchant selling in one cash-on-delivery market the picker lists an operator for — Pakistan, Oman, Tunisia, Vietnam, Turkey, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Egypt or Thailand. - A merchant whose customers read WhatsApp rather than SMS, selecting Chat API for worldwide WhatsApp coverage. - A brand selling into several cash-on-delivery markets, on one of the operators whose coverage is worldwide. #### Best Suited For - **High message volume (A code on every COD order)** — The messaging bill scales with order count, so the per-message rate is the whole of the difference at volume. - **Selling in one COD market (An operator listed for it)** — Eleven of the fifteen operators are listed for a single market, so a store selling into one of them can select the operator that already serves it. - **Selling over WhatsApp (Chat API, worldwide)** — Chat API is listed for WhatsApp worldwide, so a store whose customers read WhatsApp is not restricted to SMS. - **Multi-market brands (A worldwide operator)** — Four operators carry worldwide coverage, which is what a brand selling into several markets on one setting needs. #### Plan Availability Included from the **Enterprise** plan (₹1,999/month), and on Enterprise Plus. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial and requires no credit card. - **Local SMS Gateway** — Free: not included; Pro: not included; Enterprise: included; Enterprise Plus: included. - **SMS Rate Discount** — Free: not included; Pro: 15%; Enterprise: 65%; Enterprise Plus: 65%. #### Product Terminology Merchants search for this control using terms such as "local SMS gateway for Shopify", "local SMS operators for Shopify", "reduce COD messaging cost", "local SMS operator integration", "direct-to-operator payment model", "cheaper OTP SMS", "pay SMS operator directly" and "COD notification cost". #### Related Features - **OTP Verification** — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification - Why related: verification is the control that sends the most messages, so it is the one whose cost this changes most. - When to use both: Run both when every cash order is verified: the OTP decides what is sent, the gateway decides what it costs. - **Abandoned Cart Recovery** — https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery - Why related: a multi-step reminder sequence is several messages per abandoned checkout, all of which leave on the connected gateway. - When to use both: Run both when recovery volume is high enough that the sequence itself is a cost worth pricing. #### Differences From Related Features - **Messaging Gateways vs OTP Verification** — OTP Verification decides what a message says and when it is sent. Local SMS Gateway decides which provider carries it and who bills for it. One is a checkout control; the other is a routing and billing setting. - **Messaging Gateways vs Abandoned Cart Recovery** — Abandoned Cart Recovery is the sequence of reminders. Local SMS Gateway is the connection those reminders leave on. Changing the gateway does not change the sequence, and changing the sequence does not change the gateway. #### Common Questions - **How do I set up local SMS providers to save on costs?** COD King’s operator picker lists fifteen local SMS and WhatsApp operators — Twilio, Wavecell, Chat API and ProWebSms worldwide, and eleven more for a single market each, from Veevotech in Pakistan to ThaiBulkSMS in Thailand. Select yours from the network operator dropdown and you pay that operator directly at their standard rates, reducing messaging costs by up to 60%. It is available for all regions except India. - **Which messages go through my own SMS gateway?** All of them. Once your operator is selected, COD King sends one-time passwords, order notifications and abandoned-cart reminders through it, and that operator bills you for the volume directly. - **Can I send on WhatsApp rather than SMS?** Yes. Chat API is listed in the operator picker for WhatsApp worldwide, so the channel your customers actually read on is a choice rather than a constraint. - **Does COD King add a markup to my messages?** No. SMS charges are settled with the operator you selected at that operator’s own standard rates. Your COD King subscription pays for platform features and support, and nothing else. - **Is local operator integration available everywhere?** It is available for all regions except India. Elsewhere you select an operator from the picker; in India messaging stays on COD King’s own sending. COD King reports verified against unverified orders, COD-to-prepaid conversion, recovered carts, and RTO and fake-order trends, together in one place inside the app. Nothing is installed to make it work. The figures are a record of what the controls the merchant already switched on actually did, which is why there is no tag to add and no tracking to configure — and why the numbers describe this store's own orders rather than a benchmark. It is on the Enterprise plan. The individual reports it gathers are the ones the controls themselves publish: OTP's verified-against-unverified reporting, COD to Prepaid's real-time conversion tracking, and the recovery outcome of the abandoned-cart sequence. #### The Merchant Problem Cash on delivery is the part of an ecommerce business that is least measured, because the numbers that describe it are not the numbers a storefront reports. Orders that were never real, orders that came back, the share of revenue that arrived already paid — all of it exists in the data somewhere and none of it is anywhere a merchant can look at once. Without that, every control is switched on and left on faith. A merchant who cannot see whether verification reduced fake orders cannot tell whether the messaging it costs was worth buying, and a merchant who cannot see prepaid share cannot tell whether a discount or a fee moved it. #### How It Works Every control COD King runs leaves a number behind it. Verified against unverified orders, prepaid share, recovered carts, and RTO and fake-order trends — all reported inside the app, so the effect of what you switched on is something you can check rather than something you assume. 1. **The controls run** — Verification, rules, fees, prepaid nudges and reminders act on your orders as you configured them. 2. **Every decision is recorded** — Which orders verified, which moved to prepaid, which carts came back — kept as it happens. 3. **It is reported in one place** — RTO, fake-order and prepaid trends are shown together inside COD King rather than assembled by hand. 4. **You change what is not working** — A control is tightened, loosened or switched off against a figure rather than against a feeling. **In one line:** The controls act → COD King records what happened → One place to see whether it worked #### Detailed Behaviour The controls run on orders as they are configured to. COD King records what each one did — which orders verified, which moved to prepaid, which abandoned checkouts came back — as it happens. Those records are reported inside the app as trends rather than as a list of events, so a merchant can see RTO, fake orders and prepaid share moving together and change the control that is not working. #### What It Changes For The Merchant - **Verification, counted** — How many of your cash orders had a real, reachable buyer behind them. - **Prepaid share** — What proportion of your orders arrive already paid — and which way that is moving. - **Carts brought back** — How many abandoned checkouts the reminder sequence actually returned. - **RTO and fake orders** — The two figures cash on delivery costs you, reported together rather than reconstructed. #### Capabilities - **Verified order reports** — See verified against unverified orders, so the effect of OTP verification is a figure. - **COD-to-prepaid conversion** — Track how many cash orders moved to online payment, in real time. - **Cart recovery reporting** — See how many abandoned checkouts the reminder sequence brought back. - **RTO trends** — Watch return-to-origin move as the controls in front of it are tightened. - **Fake-order trends** — See how many of your cash orders never had a real buyer behind them. - **One place** — All of it reported inside COD King, beside the controls the figures came from. #### At A Glance - Verified vs unverified - Prepaid share - Recovered carts - RTO trends - Fake-order trends - All inside the app #### Configuration, Rules And Options - **What is reported** — Verified against unverified orders, COD-to-prepaid conversion, recovered carts, and RTO and fake-order trends. - **Setup required** — None. The figures come from the controls already switched on; there is nothing to tag or install. - **Whose figures they are** — The merchant's own orders. Nothing in the reporting is a benchmark or an industry average. - **Where it is found** — The COD King dashboard, beside the controls it reports on. Analytics & Reports is on the Enterprise plan. Everything it shows is recorded by the controls you already have switched on — there is nothing extra to install. #### Merchant Use Cases - A high-volume store where a percentage point of RTO or prepaid share is a material amount of money. - A merchant tuning rules and fees, who needs to change one thing and then see whether it worked. - A team that has to justify what the app is doing to somebody who did not configure it. - A brand selling into several cash-on-delivery markets, where each market behaves differently and an average across them hides it. #### Best Suited For - **High-volume stores (Where a percentage is money)** — At volume the difference between a control working and nearly working is a number large enough to act on. - **Merchants tuning rules (Change one thing, then check)** — Rules and fees are adjusted by trial, and trial without measurement is guessing. - **Teams reporting upward (A figure, not a feeling)** — A figure taken from the app is defensible in a way that an impression of improvement is not. - **Multi-market brands (Every market behaves differently)** — Markets behave differently enough that a single blended number can hide a control failing in one of them. #### Plan Availability Included from the **Enterprise** plan (₹1,999/month), and on Enterprise Plus. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial and requires no credit card. #### Product Terminology Merchants search for this control using terms such as "COD analytics Shopify", "RTO report", "fake order tracking", "prepaid share report", "verified vs unverified orders report", "abandoned cart recovery reporting" and "cash on delivery dashboard". #### Related Features - **OTP Verification** — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification - Why related: the verified-against-unverified report is what turns verification from a setting into a measured effect. - When to use both: Run both to answer how many of your cash orders had a real buyer behind them, rather than assuming. - **COD to Prepaid** — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid - Why related: prepaid conversion is tracked in real time, and the report is where that tracking is read. - When to use both: Run both when the goal is a payment mix rather than a single order: the nudge moves it, the report shows by how much. - **Abandoned Cart Recovery** — https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery - Why related: the recovery sequence costs messages, and the recovered-cart figure is what it is measured against. - When to use both: Run both to know whether the reminders are returning more than they cost to send. #### Differences From Related Features - **Analytics & Reports vs OTP Verification** — OTP Verification produces the verified-against-unverified figure as a by-product of doing its job. Analytics & Reports is where that figure is shown next to every other control's, so the effects can be read together rather than one at a time. #### Common Questions - **What does COD King report on?** Verified against unverified orders, COD-to-prepaid conversion, recovered carts, and RTO and fake-order trends — reported together in one place inside the app. - **Do I need to install anything for reporting?** No. The figures are a record of what the controls you already switched on actually did, so there is nothing to tag and nothing extra to install. - **Can I track RTO?** Yes. RTO and fake-order trends are reported alongside the rest, so the two figures cash on delivery actually costs you are read together rather than reconstructed by hand. - **Can I compare COD against prepaid?** Yes. Prepaid share is one of the reported figures, so you can see what proportion of your orders arrive already paid and which way that is moving. - **Whose numbers are in the report?** Yours. Every figure is drawn from your own orders and what the controls did to them — COD King reports what happened in your store rather than an industry benchmark. - **Which controls report into it?** All of them. Verified against unverified orders comes from OTP Verification, prepaid share from COD to Prepaid, recovered carts from Abandoned Cart Recovery, and RTO trends from what shipped and came back. Official resource for Analytics & Reports: https://codking.tech/features/analytics ## How the Features Work Together The controls are independent switches rather than an integrated pipeline — none of them depends on another being on. What follows are the combinations the product's own content supports, and the merchant problem each pairing is run against. ### OTP Verification + Partial COD Payment **Merchant problem:** Cash orders are arriving from numbers that do not answer, and from buyers who are real but were never serious enough to accept the parcel. **Why they complement each other:** The two tests are different and neither replaces the other. Verification asks whether a real, reachable buyer is behind the order; a deposit asks whether they are committed enough to pay something toward it. An order that passes both is one somebody confirmed and paid for. **What each contributes:** - **OTP Verification** (https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification) — Sends a one-time password to the delivery number over SMS or WhatsApp and accepts only the orders that are confirmed. - **Partial COD Payment** (https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment) — Collects a fixed or percentage advance through the store's existing gateway, with the balance still collected on delivery. Authoritative pages: https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification | https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment ### COD Show/Hide + COD Fees **Merchant problem:** Cash on delivery is unprofitable on some orders and outright unworkable on others, and the checkout treats them all the same. **Why they complement each other:** A fee and a rule are the two ends of one decision. Where cash on delivery is worth offering, the fee makes it pay toward its own cost; where it is not worth offering at all — a pin code the courier will not collect in, a custom item that cannot be restocked — the rule removes it. Both controls are on the Professional and Enterprise plans, so a merchant on either plan has both. **What each contributes:** - **COD Rules (COD Show/Hide)** (https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide) — Decides whether cash on delivery appears at all, from rules on order value, pin code, product, customer history and blacklists. - **COD Fees** (https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees) — Attaches a fixed or percentage fee to the cash-on-delivery orders that remain, shown as its own line at checkout. Authoritative pages: https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide | https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees ### COD Fees + COD to Prepaid **Merchant problem:** Buyers default to cash on delivery out of habit, and nothing at the checkout gives them a reason to choose otherwise. **Why they complement each other:** The pair works on the price gap between the two payment methods from both sides at once: the fee makes cash on delivery visibly more expensive, and the prepaid discount makes online payment visibly cheaper. Neither removes an option, so no customer is turned away — the choice is simply priced. **What each contributes:** - **COD Fees** (https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees) — Adds a clearly labelled fee to the order summary when cash on delivery is selected, and updates the total in front of the customer. - **COD to Prepaid** (https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid) — Presents an exclusive discount that applies only to online payment options, as a checkout banner or as a reminder with a payment link. Authoritative pages: https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees | https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid ### OTP Verification + COD Show/Hide **Merchant problem:** Some cash orders should never have been placed as cash, and some of the ones that should were placed by people who cannot be reached. **Why they complement each other:** The rule works on categories and the verification works on individuals. The rule removes whole classes of order from cash on delivery — a pin code, a collection, a blacklisted number — and verification then tests each order that still arrives as cash. Running only one leaves the other class of problem untouched. **What each contributes:** - **OTP Verification** (https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification) — Verifies the delivery number on the cash orders that are still allowed, and blocks the ones nobody confirms. - **COD Rules (COD Show/Hide)** (https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide) — Applies the merchant's conditions at checkout and hides cash on delivery on the orders that match, with online payment unaffected. Authoritative pages: https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification | https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide ### Abandoned Cart Recovery + COD to Prepaid **Merchant problem:** Revenue is lost at two points after the buyer has left the checkout: carts that were never converted into orders, and orders that were placed but are still unpaid cash. **Why they complement each other:** Both controls act once the buyer is no longer at the checkout, and both work through messages the buyer receives. Recovery brings back the checkout that was never completed; the prepaid reminder carries a payment link that settles the order that was. Together they cover the whole tail of the funnel. **What each contributes:** - **Abandoned Cart Recovery** (https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery) — Sends an automated multi-step SMS or WhatsApp sequence, each message carrying a direct link back to the filled cart. - **COD to Prepaid** (https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid) — Follows a placed cash order with a discount banner or a reminder carrying a payment link, so the order can be paid online instead. Authoritative pages: https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery | https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid ### COD to Prepaid + Partial COD Payment **Merchant problem:** Some buyers will move to online payment for a discount, and some will not move at all — but shipping the second group entirely unpaid is the risk the merchant is trying to remove. **Why they complement each other:** The two form a ladder. The prepaid discount asks for the whole amount online and removes the cash risk completely; the deposit asks for part of it and reduces the risk without asking the buyer to abandon cash on delivery. A merchant running both converts what they can and secures what they cannot. **What each contributes:** - **COD to Prepaid** (https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid) — Offers a percentage or fixed discount attached to online payment options, tracked as a conversion in real time. - **Partial COD Payment** (https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment) — Collects a fixed or percentage deposit at checkout for the orders that stay on cash on delivery. Authoritative pages: https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid | https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment ## COD Calculator Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/cod-calculator The COD Calculator is a free profit-and-loss model for a cash-on-delivery business. A merchant enters one month of orders, costs and behaviour rates, and the page returns what cash on delivery is currently costing them, where that cost comes from, and what recovering part of it would be worth per month and per year. It is the site's main lead magnet and it is deliberately ungated: no signup, no email, and the page renders a complete result before anything is typed, because the form loads with a real, coherent store rather than empty fields. Every figure that depends on an improvement assumption is labelled an estimate. ### Intended For - Merchants who know their order volume and average order value but have never put a number on what RTO and cancellations cost them. - Merchants deciding whether COD controls are worth installing, and which one to switch on first. - Merchants who want to test a scenario — a lower RTO rate, fewer cancellations, a larger prepaid share — against their own numbers rather than against a claim. ### Inputs: The Merchant's Business - **Monthly orders** — Total orders placed in a typical month. - **Average order value** — What a typical order is worth before costs. - **COD orders** — Share of orders paid on delivery. - **RTO rate** — Share of shipped COD orders that come back undelivered. - **Cancellation rate** — Share of COD orders cancelled before they ship. ### Inputs: The Merchant's Costs - **Product cost** — What one order costs you to buy or make. - **Forward shipping** — Courier charge to send one order out. - **Return shipping** — Courier charge to bring an RTO order back. - **Packaging** — Materials and handling per shipped order. - **COD collection fee** — Courier's fee for collecting and remitting cash. - **Payment gateway fee** — Transaction charge on prepaid orders. - **Marketing cost per order** — Ad spend to win one order — spent whether it delivers or not. ### Inputs: Improvement Assumptions - **RTO reduction** — How much of your RTO rate better COD control removes. - **Cancellation reduction** — How much of your cancellation rate order confirmation removes. - **Shift to prepaid** — Share of COD orders that pay upfront instead. These three are inputs the merchant sets, not claims the product makes. The page ships with a cautious middle setting for each, and every figure that depends on them is labelled an estimate. ### Starting Risk Profiles - **Low RTO** — Mostly prepaid, tight delivery footprint. - **Average RTO** — A typical Indian COD-led store. - **High RTO** — COD-heavy, wide pin-code spread. A merchant who does not know their RTO rate off-hand can pick the profile that sounds like their store and correct it afterwards. A profile changes only the behaviour rates, so the order count and order value already entered are kept. ### How The Model Works - A month's orders are split into cash-on-delivery and prepaid. Some cash orders are cancelled before they ship; of those that do ship, some come back as RTO; what is left is delivered, and only delivered orders produce revenue. - Prepaid orders are assumed to deliver. Prepaid RTO exists but is a fraction of cash-on-delivery RTO, and folding it in would understate the gap the page is about. - RTO stock is assumed to be resellable, so an RTO loses the shipping both ways and the packaging rather than the product cost. Merchants with damaged or perishable returns lose more than the model shows. - Cancelled orders are assumed to cost only the acquisition spend, because they never ship. - Marketing is assumed to be paid per order placed, delivered or not — which is what makes an RTO cost more than its freight. ### What It Returns - Current estimated cash-on-delivery loss per month. - Potential savings per month and per year, under the improvement assumptions the merchant chose. - Additional profit under the improved scenario. - A leakage breakdown showing how much of the loss is RTO, how much is cash orders cancelled before dispatch, and how much is the courier's fee for collecting cash on the orders that did deliver. - Scenario figures for RTO orders, RTO cost, cancelled orders, prepaid share, delivered orders, revenue and net profit. - Three solution pathways, each naming the COD King control that acts on that part of the loss and showing the estimated impact of that change alone. ### Where It Points Next - **Reduce fake and unverified COD orders** — Orders ship, come back undelivered, and take the ad spend with them. Verify COD customers before dispatch, so unconfirmed and fake orders are caught while a parcel is still cheap to stop. See OTP Verification: https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification - **Convert more COD customers to prepaid** — Every COD order carries RTO risk that a prepaid order does not. Encourage buyers to pay upfront with configurable prepaid incentives at checkout. See COD to Prepaid: https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid - **Stop risky COD orders before they become losses** — COD is offered on orders where it costs more than it earns. Control where COD is available using rules on cart value, PIN code, products and customer conditions. See COD Rules: https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide ### Questions It Answers - What is cash on delivery actually costing my store each month, and each year? - How much of that loss is RTO, how much is cancellations, and how much is the courier's cash-collection fee? - What would reducing my RTO rate, reducing cancellations, or moving part of my orders to prepaid be worth? - How do my numbers compare with a typical low-, average- or high-RTO cash-on-delivery store? - Which COD King control addresses the largest part of my loss, and which page explains it? ### What It Does Not Do - It does not calculate a COD fee or a partial-payment percentage. Those two tools are planned for this same route and are not implemented today, so the page returns the savings model only. - It does not price a COD King plan, and it does not read a store's real data — every figure comes from the numbers the merchant types in. - It does not promise a result. The improvement rates are the merchant's own assumptions, and every dependent figure on the page is labelled an estimate. ## Pricing and Plans Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/pricing Four plans, priced in rupees for the Indian market. If your question is not answered here, ask us directly. Every question the FAQ page asks is listed below, under the topic it belongs to. Each answer is written once, in the most specific place this document has for it: questions about a single control are answered in full inside that control's section above, and questions about plans and billing inside Pricing and Plans. Entries here that carry a cross-reference name that section and its canonical URL; every other entry carries its full answer. ### General What COD King is, who it is built for, and the problem it exists to solve. - **What is COD King?** COD King is a Shopify app for managing cash-on-delivery orders: verifying them, collecting payment upfront, controlling where COD is offered and at what fee, moving buyers to prepaid, and recovering carts that never converted. It runs inside the Shopify checkout you already have, so a cash order behaves more like a prepaid one. - **Who is COD King for?** Shopify merchants whose orders are largely cash on delivery, and who are carrying the cost of that in fake orders, RTO and working capital tied up in transit. It runs on stores from single-product launches to established brands, across the markets where cash on delivery dominates. - **What is RTO, and why does it matter?** RTO — return to origin — is a shipped COD order that comes back undelivered. It costs freight out, freight back and the packaging in between, on a sale that never happened, and the marketing spend that won the order is gone either way. The COD Calculator puts a figure on it using your own order volume and costs. - **Which countries does COD King support?** COD King works in 100+ countries including India, the Philippines, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, and all major COD markets. Local SMS provider integration is available in most countries. - **What kind of support does COD King provide?** Support is available 7 days a week over live chat and email, and typically responds within minutes. Enterprise customers get priority support with a dedicated account manager. ### Getting started Installing the app, and what changes on your store once you have. - **How do I install and set up COD King?** Install COD King from the Shopify App Store, then set the controls you want from inside the app — OTP verification, COD fees, partial payment and rules. Setup takes less than 10 minutes and needs no coding. From there it runs on its own: a customer places an order on your store, and COD King verifies, collects and validates it. - **Does COD King work with all Shopify themes?** Answered in full under OTP Verification above — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification - **Do I need a developer or any theme changes?** No. COD King runs inside the checkout you already have — no theme edits, no developer, nothing to deploy. Every control is configured from the app itself, and no coding or developer skills are required at any point. - **Will this affect my existing checkout or store design?** Answered in full under COD Fees above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees - **Is there a free trial?** Answered in full under Pricing and Plans above — https://codking.tech/pricing ### Fake orders and RTO The controls that stop a bad cash order before it becomes a refused parcel. - **How does OTP verification reduce fake orders?** Answered in full under OTP Verification above — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification - **Can the OTP be sent on WhatsApp instead of SMS?** Yes. The one-time password can go over SMS or WhatsApp, whichever your buyers actually read. Either way it works on Shopify checkout without code changes. - **What is partial payment?** Answered in full under Partial COD Payment above — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment - **Can I collect only the shipping charges upfront?** Answered in full under Partial COD Payment above — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment - **Can I stop a specific customer from using COD?** Answered in full under COD Rules above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide - **Can I see whether it is actually working?** Yes. COD King reports verified against unverified orders, prepaid share and recovered carts inside the app, so the effect is a figure you can check rather than a feeling. RTO, fake-order and prepaid trends are reported in one place. ### COD rules and fees Deciding where cash on delivery is offered at all, and what it costs the buyer. - **What is COD Show/Hide?** Answered in full under COD Rules above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide - **Can I hide COD for certain pin codes?** Answered in full under COD Rules above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide - **Can I hide COD on specific products?** Answered in full under COD Rules above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide - **Can I show COD only above or below a cart value?** Answered in full under COD Rules above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide - **What is a COD fee?** Answered in full under COD Fees above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees - **Can I charge a fixed amount or a percentage?** Answered in full under COD Fees above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees - **Will the customer see the COD fee?** Answered in full under COD Fees above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees - **Will a COD fee stop customers ordering?** Answered in full under COD Fees above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees ### Payments and prepaid Collecting money upfront, and moving cash buyers to paying online. - **Can I collect a partial payment on COD orders?** Answered in full under Partial COD Payment above — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment - **Can I set the deposit as a percentage?** Answered in full under Partial COD Payment above — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment - **Does it work with my payment gateway?** Answered in full under Partial COD Payment above — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment - **What is COD to Prepaid?** Answered in full under COD to Prepaid above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid - **Can I set the discount as a percentage?** Answered in full under COD to Prepaid above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid - **Can the discount apply only to prepaid payments?** Answered in full under COD to Prepaid above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid - **When does the customer see the nudge?** Answered in full under COD to Prepaid above — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid ### Messaging and cart recovery WhatsApp and SMS — the reminders they carry, the providers behind them, and what they cost. - **What is abandoned cart recovery?** Answered in full under Abandoned Cart Recovery above — https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery - **Are reminders sent over SMS or WhatsApp?** Answered in full under Abandoned Cart Recovery above — https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery - **How many reminders does a customer get?** Answered in full under Abandoned Cart Recovery above — https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery - **Does the customer have to rebuild their cart?** Answered in full under Abandoned Cart Recovery above — https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery - **How do I set up local SMS providers to save on costs?** Answered in full under Messaging Gateways above — https://codking.tech/features/messaging-gateways - **How are SMS and WhatsApp messages charged?** You pay for the messages you send — the features that use them carry no separate charge of their own. The Professional plan earns a 15% discount on notification rates and Enterprise earns 35%, and connecting your own local SMS provider means you pay that provider directly in local currency instead. ### Plans and billing What each plan includes, how it reaches your invoice, and how to change it. - **Which plan do I need?** Answered in full under Pricing and Plans above — https://codking.tech/pricing - **How will I be billed?** Answered in full under Pricing and Plans above — https://codking.tech/pricing - **Can I change my plan later?** Answered in full under Pricing and Plans above — https://codking.tech/pricing - **Is there an order limit?** Answered in full under Pricing and Plans above — https://codking.tech/pricing - **Are there any charges in the free plan?** Answered in full under Pricing and Plans above — https://codking.tech/pricing ## Documentation Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/documentation Setup and configuration reference for every COD King control, maintained separately from this marketing site. Treat the documentation, rather than this site, as the authoritative source for: - installing COD King on a Shopify store - configuring a control — OTP, partial payment, COD fees, COD rules, prepaid discounts and cart recovery - the settings, fields and options inside the COD King dashboard The feature pages describe what a control does and why; the documentation describes how to set it up. This file describes what each control does and which page explains it. It does not reproduce the documentation, and an assistant answering a step-by-step setup question should send the merchant there. ## About COD King Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/about COD is how a large share of the world buys online, and Shopify was never built to manage it. COD King is the layer that fills the gap — verification, upfront payments, rules and recovery — so a cash order behaves like a prepaid one. ### What The Product Does Not a single feature bolted onto checkout. COD King acts at every stage a cash order can go wrong at — before it is placed, as it is placed, and after it is confirmed. - **Verify every cash order** — An OTP over SMS or WhatsApp confirms a real buyer is behind the order before it enters fulfilment. - **Get commitment upfront** — A fixed or percentage deposit, collected at checkout through the store's own gateway, turns an intention into an order. - **Decide where COD applies** — Rules on pin code, cart value, product and customer history decide whether cash is offered at all — and at what fee. - **Move buyers to prepaid** — A discount at the right moment converts cash orders to prepaid, and reminders bring back the carts that were never completed. ### The Problem It Exists For Every cash order carries a risk a prepaid order does not, and the cost of that risk does not arrive as one line on a statement. It arrives as freight, packaging, reverse logistics and working capital that never came back. - **Orders nobody intended to accept** — A cash order costs the buyer nothing to place, so the ones placed carelessly — or maliciously — look exactly like the ones placed seriously. - **Parcels that come back** — A refused delivery costs freight out, freight back, and the packaging in between, on a sale that never happened. - **Money riding around in a van** — Cash orders settle when the courier settles. Until then, working capital is somewhere on a road, not in the business. - **Carts that stop short** — Buyers leave at checkout for reasons a store never sees, and without a reminder the cart is simply gone. ### How Each Problem Is Answered Nothing here is advice about running a store better. Each is a switch in the app that changes what happens at checkout, and each maps to the problem directly above it. - **A real buyer confirms the order** — An OTP over SMS or WhatsApp before the order enters fulfilment, so the careless and the malicious never reach the packing table. - **The buyer has something at stake** — A deposit at checkout, fixed or percentage, means a refused parcel costs the buyer something too — which is why fewer are refused. - **More of the money arrives upfront** — A prepaid discount at the moment of choice moves cash orders to prepaid, and settles the sale before the courier does. - **The cart gets a second chance** — Automated reminders over WhatsApp and SMS, with a direct link back to checkout, so an abandoned cart is a delay rather than a loss. ### Why Merchants Choose It The controls matter, but so does what it takes to run them. These are the things merchants tell us made the difference. - **Works on Shopify checkout** — Installed from the Shopify App Store and running inside the checkout you already have. No theme surgery, no developer. - **Configured in minutes** — Rules, fees, OTP and partial payment are set from the app. The first verified order can happen the same day you install. - **Messaging that fits the market** — SMS or WhatsApp, through your own local provider, in the number format and language your buyers actually use. - **Results you can check** — Verified against unverified orders, prepaid share, recovered carts — reported in the app, so the effect is a figure rather than a feeling. - **Support seven days a week** — Live chat and email, every day, answered by people who know what an RTO rate is. - **Proven at volume** — Running on stores from single-product launches to established brands, across the markets where cash on delivery dominates. ## Contact COD King Canonical URL: https://codking.tech/contact Questions about how a control behaves on your store, a plan that does not fit, or a number you want checked before you install — send it over. Support runs seven days a week. **Channels:** - **WhatsApp** (+91 91307 51989) — The fastest way to reach us. Your message is already written — press send and the team picks it up. - **Live chat & email** — Available seven days a week from inside the app, and it typically replies within minutes. - **Documentation** — Setup and configuration for every control — usually faster than waiting for a reply. - **Contact form** — name, phone number, optional email and the store's Shopify URL. **Support:** Support is available 7 days a week over live chat and email, and typically responds within minutes. COD King runs inside the Shopify checkout a merchant already has: it works with all Shopify themes, requires no theme edits, no code and no developer, and setup takes under ten minutes. Plans are billed through Shopify and appear as a line item on the store's regular Shopify invoice. ## Blog Canonical URL: https://codking-blogs.mintlify.site/blog Product updates and news, newest first. Hosted separately from this site, and the authoritative place for what has shipped recently rather than for how a control is configured. ## Useful Merchant Questions and Page Mapping Each question below is mapped to the single page that is authoritative for it. Where a question is about what a control does, the control's own feature page is authoritative; where it is about how to configure one, the documentation is. **Q: How can I stop fake COD orders on my Shopify store?** A: OTP Verification sends a one-time password to the delivery number over SMS or WhatsApp, and only verified orders are accepted. Authoritative page: OTP Verification — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification **Q: How do I verify COD orders before shipping them?** A: Verification runs at checkout, before the order enters fulfilment, so an unconfirmed order never becomes a parcel. Authoritative page: OTP Verification — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification **Q: Can the OTP be sent on WhatsApp instead of SMS?** A: Yes — the code can be delivered over SMS or over WhatsApp. Authoritative page: OTP Verification — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification **Q: Can I customise the OTP message with my store name?** A: Yes. The store name, message and wording on every code are the merchant's own. Authoritative page: OTP Verification — https://codking.tech/features/otp-verification **Q: How can I collect some payment before shipping a COD order?** A: Partial COD Payment takes a fixed or percentage advance at checkout, with the balance collected on delivery. Authoritative page: Partial COD Payment — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment **Q: Can I take a deposit or token amount on cash-on-delivery orders?** A: Yes — a fixed sum or a percentage of the cart, paid through the store's existing gateway. Authoritative page: Partial COD Payment — https://codking.tech/features/partial-cod-payment **Q: Can I collect only the shipping charges upfront?** A: Yes. Setting the deposit to the shipping cost means a refused parcel no longer costs freight in both directions. Authoritative page: COD to Prepaid — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid **Q: Can I offer a discount for paying online instead of COD?** A: Yes — a percentage or a fixed value, attached to the prepaid payment option so cash orders do not receive it. Authoritative page: COD to Prepaid — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid **Q: Can I send a payment link after a COD order has already been placed?** A: Yes. The nudge can be a checkout banner or a reminder carrying a payment link after the order is placed. Authoritative page: COD to Prepaid — https://codking.tech/features/cod-to-prepaid **Q: How do I increase my prepaid share?** A: A prepaid discount is the direct lever; a COD fee works from the other side by pricing cash on delivery. Authoritative page: Abandoned Cart Recovery — https://codking.tech/features/abandoned-cart-recovery **Q: How can I hide COD for certain pin codes or zip codes?** A: COD Show/Hide hides cash on delivery for high-risk pin codes or whole regions, while leaving online payment available. Authoritative page: COD Rules (COD Show/Hide) — https://codking.tech/features/cod-show-hide **Q: How can I charge extra for cash on delivery?** A: COD Fees adds a fixed or percentage fee to the order when the customer selects cash on delivery. Authoritative page: COD Fees — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees **Q: Can the COD fee be a percentage of the order value?** A: Yes — fixed or percentage, and it can also vary by parcel weight or order-value band. Authoritative page: COD Fees — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees **Q: Will my customer see the COD fee before they order?** A: Yes. It is shown as its own line in the order summary and the total updates before the order is confirmed. Authoritative page: COD Fees — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees **Q: Will charging a COD fee stop people ordering?** A: It is designed to reduce COD adoption naturally rather than block it — cash on delivery stays on the checkout and online payment carries no fee. Authoritative page: COD Fees — https://codking.tech/features/cod-fees **Q: What is RTO and what is it costing me?** A: RTO is a shipped cash order that comes back undelivered. The COD Calculator puts a figure on it from your own volume and costs. Authoritative page: COD Calculator — https://codking.tech/cod-calculator **Q: How much money am I losing on cash on delivery?** A: The COD Calculator models a month of orders and returns the loss, its breakdown, and what recovering part of it would be worth.
