# WhatsApp COD Verification

> Send a WhatsApp message with a confirm link after a COD order is placed. Covers the switch, the test message, the verification tag, auto verify and the cancel button.

WhatsApp COD verification sends the customer a WhatsApp message with a link after they place a COD order. They tap the link and confirm. Verified orders are tagged so you can tell them apart in Shopify.

WhatsApp messages usually get opened faster than SMS, which makes this useful in markets where WhatsApp is the main channel.

## Open the page

In **COD King → Settings**, click **WhatsApp COD verification** under **COD workflow**. The page is titled **COD Verification WhatsApp** and shows **Enabled** or **Inactive** at the top.

## Turn it on

Tick **Send the verification link on WhatsApp**. COD orders then get a WhatsApp message with a link the customer opens to confirm. Click **Test Whatsapp** to send yourself a sample before you go live.

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Verification tag** | The tag added to the Shopify order after verification. Leave it blank to use the default emoji tag (`✅ COD-Verified`). |
| **Auto verify** | If the verification WhatsApp is sent through auto retry, the order is verified as soon as someone clicks the verification link. |
| **Show cancel button** | Shows Confirm and Cancel buttons on the verification page so the customer can choose. It works only during the link verification flow. |

## What the customer sees

A **What the customer opens** preview at the bottom of the page shows the message: *Confirm your COD order*, the shopper's name, the order ID and total, and a **Confirm your order** button. Tapping it opens the verification page, where **Confirm** and **Cancel** work. Nothing is sent and no order changes in the preview.
